I've been lurking for a while, just took the time to register this morning. 6 months ago I finally decided to get back into the Mustang world after about a 5 year break. I went out and found an '01 Bullitt that needed some TLC, and started rebuilding her. Things are coming along well, but I forgot how expensive this gets quickly.........lol

When I bought 5339, she was running a bit rough, but the exterior was decent, and the interior was spotless, except for a small spot on the driver's seat where the seatbelt rubs all the time. She just needed some love, so I'm working on it slowly but surely.

So far:

Had oil changed back to 5W20 synthetic from the 10W40 that was in her.
Replaced 4 weak coil packs and rebuilt the other 4
Put new Motorcraft Platinum plugs in her.
Replaced the Autozone Spectre filter with the Tunable Induction MAF forward kit.
Cleaned the MAF, which was horribly needed.
Replaced the throttle body gasket to fix a vacuum leak.
Changed the transmission fluid to Amsoil, 3.2 quarts.
Replaced the factory shifter with the MGW.
Bought the SCT X3 with a custom tune from VMP Performance.
Put on the UPR off-road X pipe.
Had a custom exhaust built with Flowmaster 1 chamber race mufflers
4" Cowl Hood from HO Fibertrends.
Cleaned, Cleaned, and then Cleaned some more.
Had the windows tinted, 20% on the back, 35% on the fronts.
Had the taillights and 3rd brake lights tinted.
Bought 2 17x10.5" wheels and 315/35 Sumitomos to replace a bent wheel
Added HPM Megabite SRs and had the pinion angle adjusted to -3 degrees
Replaced the factory subframe connectors with weld in models
Added Vogtland springs and Koni shocks and struts
Added UPR caster camber plates
Got some billet goodies for the interior, not much for now

Did I mention cleaning?.......lol

As soon as I get back from vacation this week, I'm going to order the other 17x9 wheel I need for the front (bought one already, what can I say, I'm buying as I get some cash.....lol) And I already have the 275/40's sitting here for them.

The cowl is a wee bit large, but I'd love to see some more photos.

I'm going to confess, I've never thought of killing someone so I can have their car, but you need to lock your doors tonight.

Car looks great
From that angle, I like the way the hood looks. Just better get some power to back it up(blower)

Nice car.

You've been busy the last 6 months. Have you changed out all fluids and filters? Assume they all need to be changed.

I love hearing about others bringing a car back to life, and that Bullitt looks great. Welcome.

Sweet Bullitt, car looks good! Just an observation, but the spring should be rotated back to the center of the spring perch.

Truth.

Mine is not seated, like his, and it clanks when I go over bumps.

Thanks for the welcome, sorry it took me so long to respond, went to Myrtle beach for the weekend and was too busy partying to check the internet.

The hood is a bit larger than I expected, but it's one of those things you either love it or hate it. Most people who've seen the pictures didn't like it until they saw it in person though, but it's been on there since January, so I'm used to it now. I kind of feel like a poser, since it's nearly stock, but with that hood and the offroad x and 1 chamber flowmasters, I don't get nearly as many kids in imports revving at me anymore....

And I did rotate the springs after that picture was taken, a friend of mine saw the pics and told me about facing the coil to avoid the clunk.

Here's a couple more pics. Car is undergoing some changes right now, and is in the paintshop, I'll post some more pics when it's done here in the next couple weeks.

I hope you saved the original hood so that you can reinstall it once you realize how horrible that cowl looks.

The car looks awesome other than that hood.

You mention in the OP that you "rebuilt 4 coil packs". How do you rebuild a sealed unit? How did you do this?

Not to dis on your purchase, but that cowl is huge. You have done a lot of great work on your Bullitt, way to go!

The cowl doesnt look bad to me ... I kind of like it.... Im sure it keeps
the engine cool, A chin spoiler would help balance out that hood for sure.
