New Hawk Pads Are Squealing and its driving me nutts!!!!

Well I changed my brake pads (front and rear) about 4 days ago. I did everything right to my knowledge. My rotors were still good so al i did was sand them a bit. i tried bedding the pads in. i was very clean with the brake job as i am with all of them. Now when i brake it squeals a bit and im just wondering what i should do to get rid of it, or is it normal. i got the HPS pads NOT HPS+.

Did you apply silicone to the backs of the pads?

the hawk pads on my old 00gt squealed badly as well

mine squeal a bit when they are cold but not to bad. if i apply a bit more pressure to the peddle it goes away.

hmmmm so does this mean its normal? i just got home from trying to bed them in at a higher speed and i ended up making my rotors blue. i went out to the lake brought it to 90mph and braked fairly hard. and it was gone for a while but the squeal came back!

glad I saw this post, I was considering the hawks but I really dont want to hear that everytime I brake. Good luck getting it to go away man.

so anyone have a way of maiking them quiet? or suggest pads that are silent. (not a box that says its quiet because the hawks say theyre silent but obviosly they aren't)

i have them and they squek a little bit but not too bad, I'm pretty sure I installed them correctly, Ive heard of others saying they squell too so i guess its normal but they stop good. oem pads shouldnt squell

By no means am I a brake expert but I have heard that Hawk pads do infact squeal a lot......

sorry to bring back my old thread but i just resurfaced the rotors myself and now the squealing is gone. i only had time to do my fronts because i was running late for something, but at least the squealing is gone
