New here and have a question

I want to change the wiring on my 1988 GT so I can run the fog lights off of a switch I bought and not have to use the factory set-up. I want to seperate the fog light wiring and run new wires to power the fogs on there own.Got any tips or howto's on this?I tried a method of having them turn on with the parking lights but that didn't work. I prefer to have them seperate so I can use the proper gauge wire,relay,fuse etc....but I need to know how ...Thanks.

Disconnect your fog lights form the factory wiring and run your own. You'll at least be able to stay backward compatible with the OEM system if there's ever the need or desire.

Looking at the list of your parts, you seem to have a good idea of how it should all be wired so I probably don't need to say this but....


Keep the high current under the hood and run only enough power to the cockpit to activate the relay.
