Just wanted to say hello and hopefully I can kick some knowledge as well as learn a lot here from you all. Whats left of my cars are in my sig. I have the name RoushafiedCobra because up untill a month ago I had a '01 Cobra with a DSS built SB, ProCharger P1CS2, Kooks, side exit, Roush skirts/shifter, Cobra RR svo hood, Saleen wing and rear bumper cover, Shelby scoops and it was black on pewter with FR500 rims. I recently sold it to possibly buy a 2005 GT, pull the motor add a 2003 Cobra w/KB and make it look like PHPs dragstang but in a different color and a few minor addition to the body

To keep this tech, what do you think about my plans?

Yep but I gotta digitalize them so I can host 'em. I only have a before pic of the '88 available as I had just completed the 382 recently and have not taking the time to take pics. Will have the Cobra and improved 88 up within a week or so. And yes it was Bad Ass!! not as much power as I was hoping for (Denver, CO) but I had a consistant 9lbs which put me at 448hp/463TQ on 92. Enough to give a lot of people a run for their money. It was a beautiful car.

Yeah, that why I said I was a lil disappointed, I of course could have probably made a few adjustments but here in Colorado the lack of air just seriously limits you. LaRocca and ProCharger said that 9lbs was the absoloute "safe" limit for the gas I was using and with my compression.

FiveLtrRiceEatr: It had some head work done, replaced cams and exhaust. Ofcourse ignition and fuel etc. But thats about it. I did make the mistake (in the beginning)of using 3.73's instead of 4.10's or 4.30's but hey I was n00b Ofcourse Mustang World let me know the extent of my stupidity in which I ended up replacing the rear with a live one w/4.10's.

Hopefully my new project will turn out much better as I plan for this to be my dream car and to keep it forever.

I think your plans sound awesome. Did you read about PHP's 05 in the January Hot Rod? I didn't know until I read that about how the computer on the new cars sets it up so that you can't do burnouts. If you get the car, you'll have to call Super Chips right away! If you end up doing that 05 with teh Cobra, you'll be in a magazine instantly.

Yes The computer can detect when the tires or driveshaft are spinning in a way that does not match engine speed for a given mph. The result is the inability to do a full burnout or a powershift. You can still spin the tires from a stop, but you can't just "stand on it." EEC will flag the motion and throttle the engine back.

on the 197's the throttle is by-wire, as i recall. tuners should have chips and such available very very quickly to remedy the issue.

That's gay, that's sorta like the 99+ traction control system, only you can't turn it off. I'm sure they'll have fixes for that with computer chips.

That feature is still there also. But yeah, as Hissin' says, they will have chips to remedy the feature soon. In the article, the guy from Superchips went into the program and was able to bypass the codes.
