Hopefully I'm posting in the right thread, if not let me know! I've lurked around here for awhile, and finally bought my first Mustang this past Saturday. She's a laser red 1995 GTS, 5 speed, with a bit over 87k on her. She rides smooth, although I believe the timing's a bit off. So far all I've done is new air filter, cleaned up the interior/exterior, plan on swapping head units tonight, and I've got new O2 sensors waiting to be put in next time I'm off work. As for future mods, I plan on, later this week, ordering a JLT intake system, short throw shifter (any good recommendations??) and within the next couple months a new clutch just to make sure she clamps nice and tight. Let me know if there's anything I should check out, look into, replace, or whatever!

At work right now unfortunately, so no pics just yet haha I'll edit with some tomorrow after she gets a nice wash And I've heard good things on both the pro 5.0 and the tri-ax, but I've also heard great things on the MGW. What's a decent clutch/flywheel combo? I'm wondering if it'd be better to go with the basic King Cobra, or go for a nice SPEC or something.

Thanks a lot, and I can definitely tell I can learn a lot from both my car and this site. I'm sure I'll be posting up a lot of how-to questions over the summer

Welcome! I've never really had probems with my Tri-Ax. I like 'em. Heard a lot of good things about Pro 5.0s and MGWs, though.

Congrats I've had my car for a little over a year and these guys are part of why I got a Stang.:SNSign:

As far as shifters, I've got a Pro 5.0 and I don't like it. I'm gonna get a Tri-ax. My Pro5.0 is notchy and my buddy's Triax is butter...but to each his own.

As far as clutches, I had a King Cobra in the car when I bought it and it was awful. Insane pedal pressure and chattered like hell. I've got a Zoom now and would HIGHLY recommend you at least look into them. I got the whole kit from Summit and it was resonably priced.
And while you're in there, put a steel bearing retainer in.
Ford Racing M-7050-B - Ford Racing T-5 Bearing Retainers

And get a decent quadrant/cable/firewall adjuster. But get a stock cable so you can use the firewall adjuster to adjust it. Don't buy into that adjustable cable crap. I've got one on mine right now and every time I need to adjust it, gotta jack the car up and do it down there.

Sounds like a nice car ya got. You're gonna love every minute of owning a Stang! Now,
