My old setup: typhoon intake, vortech a trim, stock everything else.

new setup: typhoon intake, a trim, 255 fuel pump, 30# injectors, 75mm maf (yes, calibrated for 30s), and kirban adjustable FPR.

I start the car and it dies. If I am lucky it will run for 10 seconds. Revving the car doesn't help either.

I only tried to get the car to idle because I wanted the computer to relearn everything (car has been sitting for months), but I can't keep it running long enough!

When I put the blower on last year, it ran perfectly w/all the stock fuel parts. Now that I upgrade, it won't even run. What the hell?

I have no air in the fuel lines, I did the 'schrader valve test'. I tried the fuel pressure at 30, 35, 38, and 40psi and neither made a difference in how long the car took to die out. I'm afraid to go higher or lower. My stock FP regulator was at 38psi and ran the car like a champ. For comparison issues, I tried my new fuel setup with the stock regulator in place, set at 38 like last year (only diff this time was inj, maf, and pump) and it did not make the car run either.

I am at a loss. I was working on it for 6 straight hours last week, and put in 2-3 nights this week. I am ready to give up.

Got lots of tips over on Corral but nothing was able to get me going. I am about to lose faith.

To make it worse, I've got a dyno date coming up in April and if the car doesn't run, well

Someone please have the answer

Just out of curiosity, what is the calibration code on the MAF (assuming it's a Pro-M) I know you said it is calibrated for the injectors, but tell me what the code is that is etched on it.

ok, sounds good, "30" is for 30# injectors obviously, and "C" stands for conical filter, maybe there is a blower version?

Have you tried putting the stock mass air back on. Even though it's not calibrated for 30's it should still start and run. I did almost the same mod as you and had the same problem. Stock 19's though. I checked everything. That's the bad thing about doin' multiple mods at 1 time. Finally I put the stock mass air on and problem solved. I took back the 75mm pro-m and got my money back. Read alot of mixed feelings concerning the pro-m's. I guess it's the luck of the draw. I just bought a set of 30's and waitin' for my C&L 76mm I bought off ebay to arrive. Should be interesting to see how it works out. Try the stock on, interested to see what happens.

Hmm, common sense would dictate that it has something to do with the new mods.
Are the injectors connected properly?
Is the 10 pin connector for injectors connected properly?
Fuel pump is running right? (you checked fuel pressure)
How about your fuel filter? is it old? you could get temporary fuel pressure without proper fuel flow.
Did you extend the MAF wires? are they OK?
It sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me if the car starts ok but then dies.
Sorry, I'm not much help, just coming up with a few ideas.

Yes to everything.

Fuel filter is brand new, with the new pump. Pump is working fine, though.

I extended no MAF wires, so they'er ok.

Someone just IMd me saying to make sure my TPS wasn't put on wrong, and that's my next step tomorrow morning. Gotta take the night off before my head blows up or tools end up through the garage walls.

you said you put on an intake, any vacuum leaks?

Yup, vacuums are fine. Last week the PCV hose popped off but that was solved easily of course. I just put the intake (upper only, the lower stayed installed) back on tonight and everything is freshly inspected and connected.

Try rotating your mass air meter in different positions.

Could it be possible that the fuel filter is connected backwards? I saw another thread where the guy accidentally connected the fuel filter backwards, and consequently was getting no fuel. It's worth a check... It sounds like something I could find myself doing. Also, check to make sure the injector wiring looks like it's going to right injector. A guy I know had problems after his injector swap and this turned out to be the problem.

Also, the MAF could be the problem still... If it's calibrated for a non-blower application, and you're putting that much air through it, it may be maxing out the voltage sooner than it should, causing you to load up and fuel and make the car die.... I don't think this would be so much of an issue at idle though...

Hmm, fuel filter backwards. How is it supposed to look? It only goes on one way, but is it supposed to be "pointing" a certain way?

Oh, the injectors are on the right harness, that's for sure. They don't have enough slack to be hooked up wrong to begin with

Thanks for the ideas, let me know about the filter when you can.

Here you go... Yeah, the filter will only flow one way, and it might have a flow indication arrow on it depending on what type of filter it is. The identifying feature is the large band on one side that should be pointed towards the driver's side of the car.

Hmmm. The only fuel filter I changed was the little sock-looking thing on the fuel pump itself. I only have an in-tank pump and put on the little sock that came with it from my install kit.

I'd also check the TPS, and go over and make sure every ground and wire is back where it should be.

As far as the MAF goes, all the blower calibration does it richen the mixture up, most guys prefer to get a normal meter and use the FMU or regulator to fatten the mixture up. Check agian for vac leaks with the blower tubes, maf tube etc..un metered air will do weird things.

Does then car have gas? Not being a smart a$$ here but I know most guys drop the tank drain it out or run it really low, if there is only a little gas in the 255lph may be sucking it dry.

Hey Rick, I was hoping you'd drop by. I thought to PM you earlier but got deeper into the car and wasting time with it

I did keep the tank almost dry when I put the pump in but I did fill it up with 2 gallons. I know it's a "duh" thing that the 255 pulls more than the stocker but that never even crossed my mind. Do you think 2 gallons isn't enough to keep it running? Although by now I might be down to 1.5 or so since I had it running for 3-to-10 second increments about a million times now

Did you check the pins in that MAF plug, possibly bent 1? I am pretty sure it has a couple prings.

Also did you try adjusting your throttle body idle screw?

You werent to clear, since the car last ran fine what exact parts did you replace? Are you running proper spark plugs? Did you check cap & rotor? Does idle surge and stall or sound like its idling fine and just konk out?

The MAF harness is fine, I did check it.

I did adjust the throttle screw. All the way in, a little bit out, a LOT of the way out, etc. All over the place and no diff.

I do have proper plugs.

The throttle body, injectors, MAF, fuel pump and FP regulator are new. The blower and intake were on last year and it ran perfectly with absolutely NO problems whatsoever. Now that I am feeding more fuel, it is killing me
