I believe people get away with it more in more country like setting in New Jersey. Overall, it really depends on your township.

well, im in the boston area, and had only one issue once and it was a warning from what appeared to be a gung ho cop that was MAYBE 25 years old.

I believe someone makes a front license plate mount that uses velcro?

Anyway, I would not mount it. Its worth the ticket...

thats what i'll be doing. Most people tell me its a good bargaining chip. Like if the cop will write you up for speeding, you can negotiate with him to just write you up for not having front plates (if hes a great cop anyway) hehe

Just got my cobra on the road yesterday, so this is the 2nd day i've driven the car and had her on the road...and I just got pulled over by police hahaha that didn't take long

The cops "excuse" for pulling me over was because the cop didn't know what the pink card i had in my window that was where the inspection sticker was supposed to be. (it was the card issued from the DMV saying i have 14 days to inspect it). I say "excuse" because cops in my area target sports cars a lot. Primarily because there are a lot of 17 year olds in brand-new mercedes and mustangs and BMWs because its a pretty rich area here in northern jersey.

He then gives me a ticket for not having a front plate on my car. (ironic I was talking to you all about this and then 2 days with my car i get a ticket for it). $54 fine....nice. real nice. I like how i dont get a warning, seeing how the car is 2 days old.....

Anyway, he says "yeah I know these high end cars now adays dont have front brackets or mounting screws, but nothing i can do about it, its NJ law". He then goes and tells me that I could have had the plate in the front window "in view" and it would have been ok. I told him that i kinda thought that was ILLEGAL and that was more of an "F you cop, i know i dont have a front plate on, so here it is in my window" kind of thing. He understood that, but thats just the way it is.

Sooooo I guess i'll leave it in my window for now on my dashboard (which looks very ricer-ish if you ask me), or maybe ziptie it to the bottom of the bumper infront of the radiator.

Knowing the cops in my area, something tells me he would have pulled me over anyway, even IF i had my license plates in my dashboard. Thank god I didn't have my tints installed yet! Hell I may not even get them now.

damn cobra drawing so much attention

If this is true, I'm gonna cry...I just put a Cobra bumper on my car, and I would have filled the holes before I painted it had I known this law was going to be passed.

Blackened, where in Bergen County are you from?
