New MAF

Okay so I have 94 190k miles with Cold air intake, Smog pump Gone, off RD x-pipe with some flows, Chip, 3.73 gears, and Steeda Short shifter.

I been having idle issue forever, surging while driving, dieing at the light and other related problems.

Now I been going through systematically and replacing everything some said to replace my MAF cause the cold air will screw with so I am thinking of going with a 75 or 80, and than maybe change the throttle body to 70mm should I go this route?

I just can't see the benefit of an after market meter :nono:
on a combo that doesn't move more air that 19lb injectors can support.

You stand a chance of drivibality issues with an after market meter :notnice:
and
The OEM meter has a good margin of growing room for mods :nice:

I see no need to upgrade the MAF for a performance reason. Your cold air set-up is a true one with the filter in the fenderwell, right?

EDIT: Grady posted while I pecked. :nice:

Here is something to think about

The GT can have such issues with the ping thing :fuss:

It is possible a CAI could make things run a tad leaner
thus
Make it even worse if ping has paid its unwelcome visit to your Stang :)

In theory, we'd hope the adaptive strategy, MAS and IAT input would help counteract what Grady proposes.

In practice however, I think Grady very well could be correct. :nice: Add to that the nasty bend that many CAI's have right before the meter (laminar air flow and all that) and all bets are off.

I do believe that I reduced some of my ping thing when I got my GT by going from a Pro M to a stock meter. Now I'm doing something else and REALLY hosing with the computer.

Oh Okay well like some people were telling me that my MAF could be bad and that the cold air intake (yes it's the one that goes into the fender well) could also be screwing up with the MAF and they suggest going with a larger MAF, and if my stock one is bad might as well replace it.

Now what about the throttle body should I also change also like 70mm or even 65mm?

MAF's can be finicky but they dont really fail all that often. Now if you want to try, you could clock your meter (it's a PITA on the 4 flange set-up). This gets the tube with the wires in a different location so you get a different air flow dynamic though the uprights (over the wires).

I'm sure Herr Grady will have some very good ideas as well. :nice:

Well I got A new Factory 94-95 mustang Cobra MAF sensor with the center vein professionally removed and opened up to 80mm and man let me tell the car idles so bueatifully.

But I'm still having my bucking problem when driving just happens ever so often sometime bad sometimes for a several seconds stop comes back or sometime not at all.

So I still have the stock coil on the car, and going to go change the coil, and though about getting the Screamin' Demon Coil & 5.0 Dyna-Mod for my ICM just wanted your guys thoughts on them, I have the 9mm ford blue spark plug wires on it as is said the coils runs hot for stock plug wires.
