PI head/intake swap...that should be enough to purchase and have it installed.

lookhere for more info.

at this point this would be the best thing to do, then get some gears and exhaust, but until you upgrade to the PI parts those other mods won't add up to much. Once you get that 98 breatheing better everything from that point will be that much better.

I thought the PI swap cost that much just for parts???

PI swap is @1300, leaves em 700 for labor...or he could be like me and piece used parts together for about 800 and have 1200 left for install and some gears. I see lots of low mileage PI heads/intakes/cams for sale here and on corral.

Is the vt engine's stage 2 cams also worth spending the extra money for to go with the pi swap and gears? What hp and tq would I be at? After a good tune with the cams would that put me near a stock camaro ss or grand national performance wise?

wow... those were my two first mods too! for the same car!! tell me it's black

I never opted for the 4.10's but I sure did want them for better pulling, I had 3.73 that were good enough. I had no problem pulling (PI'd with an auto) up to 150.

definately get a PI headswap and gears, it'll make your car alive and run with Z28's
