i am not new to the world of mustangs. i have owned about 8 or 9 5.0 fox body mustangs from nitroused to supercharged, but i am back to owning a mustang. i just traded for an 03 sonic blue gt 5 speed fully loaded(mach 1000) with 9000 miles and have a few ?s. it already has headers,x pipe, flowmasters, and lowering springs that i can see right now. are the factory guages white faced or black faced? mine are white faced with blue and red lighting when on. i am trying to figure this out. i am betting that they are aftermarket. i already love this car and cant believe i left the mustang for so long.

Nice find. Factory gauges are black. White one's in there now are
aftermarket I'm assuming. Sounds like all your bolt on's are already
taken care of. Good luck with it!

Sonic blue

Welcome back to the fold.

And welcome to the world of hyperpathetic pistons, powdered metal rods, 3.5" bores, and cast cranks

Seriously, these are fun cars. This is a fun forum too. There's a lot of info here. The mods are pretty nifty little engines. Just not as forgiving as 5.0s and cost more to tweak.

the cool thing about modulars is that at 500 hp, the block doesnt' split, but like satated earlier, the pistons, rods and cranks give up. 9000 miles, someone got started quick with the mods.

That exhaust and suspension work sounds good. Now time for the other basic 2-10 hp bolt-ons and other goodies. Underdrive pulleys, timing adjuster, a shifter (PLEASE, stock is mush), gears (I'm stock but want 4.10, 70mph = around 2450), better air cleaner/ intake assy., etc.

Have fun with it. I know I love my '01.

I checked my rpms at 70 mph and are 1900. that has to be a stock highway gear. i am pretty sure i have the stock shifter because i know what a hurst short throw feels like in a fox body mustang. thanks for the info.
