HEy guys i took the motor out of my car to rebuild it when we put it back in with the new motor mounts the motor sits about 1.5-2 inches closer to the nose of the car and i cant get the fan in. Any ideas to what might cause this? Maybe i reversed the mounting plates the motor sits on?

I think they make 2 different sets, one for a convertable and one for hardtop. Maybe you got the wrong ones.

I'd send them back. What brand are they?

Hard to remember, but I think there are actually a driverside and passenger side specific mount? Maybe you got them mixed up? Compare your old ones to them as well, you may have potentially gotten the wrong mounts. As far as the 'vert mounts go, I think the only thing those will typically do is lower or raise the motor (can't remember which way) compared to the standard mounts.

I'm with Eric if they moved the motor forward send them back, something is seriously wrong.

The mounts are side specif but it is hard to put them in wrong since the little locating pins sit in the slots.

You say your fan won't fit, what about the trans, exhaust? Nothing should be fitting right

the mounts are side specific and there on the right ones. The driveshaft sits about an 1.5 from where it used to be because i can see some shiny input shaft. I got the mounts from pep boys for a 5.0. Ill see if they have different ones.
