New OWNER 2000 Mustang GT

I have just bought my first mustang a 2000 GT with about 60000 miles on it and I am looking to get more horse power but I do not know wher to start. It currently has the FIPK system and that is it, it might have the chip but I do not know. What can I do to imporve the performance. I was also wanting to replace the shifter but I do not know what transmission I have in this year car. Thanks Alot--I look forward to the help

T45 shifter. Get a Pro 5.0

And change that mid pipe!

Congrats on the new car!! Another few suggestions would be to replace your gears. Either 3.73 or 4.10s would be a good start. Then swap out that stock cat back. You may not pick up much by replacing your cat back but it will sound a lot better. If you need help picking which gears or exhaust you might want to try a quick search on this site. I am sure you would pull up hundreds of threads discussing these topics.

I put a Tri-Ax shifter in and it took less than 1/2 hour to install. It is a really nice shifter.

lol. Yeah, go with an uber Civic. And if your wing is less than 3 feet tall, you wont get the 20HP it adds (unless you correctly apply all stickers).

From your name I take it you have a 95? So if it's a GT then stock he has you by 40 HP.

rune a nice intake system that should help out alot then work on your exhaust. Get as much air flowing as you can through that baby
