I have just bought my first mustang a 2000 GT with about 60000 miles on it and I am looking to get more horse power but I do not know wher to start. It currently has the FIPK system and that is it, it might have the chip but I do not know. What can I do to imporve the performance. I was also wanting to replace the shifter but I do not know what transmission I have in this year car. Thanks Alot--I look forward to the help

T45 shifter. Get a Pro 5.0

And change that mid pipe!

Congrats on the new car!! Another few suggestions would be to replace your gears. Either 3.73 or 4.10s would be a good start. Then swap out that stock cat back. You may not pick up much by replacing your cat back but it will sound a lot better. If you need help picking which gears or exhaust you might want to try a quick search on this site. I am sure you would pull up hundreds of threads discussing these topics.

I put a Tri-Ax shifter in and it took less than 1/2 hour to install. It is a really nice shifter.

I also have a 2000GT. Just start with the basics. 373's, catback, h-pipe, throttle body, intake plenum. Good luck and have fun

the gt is not weak! has good tq, i would start with gears and catback

lol. Yeah, go with an uber Civic. And if your wing is less than 3 feet tall, you wont get the 20HP it adds (unless you correctly apply all stickers).

civics = teh win!!

From your name I take it you have a 95? So if it's a GT then stock he has you by 40 HP.

must be a fan of teh import, dont forget that "type r" sticker. It will add at least 10 rwhp. Oh and while you are at it you might want to look into this thing http://www.myauto.tv/tfs/

you can pull up next to my car in your civ and get , and my car is stock!

rune a nice intake system that should help out alot then work on your exhaust. Get as much air flowing as you can through that baby
