Hello fellow Mustang owners! Really glad to have a fun car. Have 3 Fords (all three are 2005's), including a brand-new-to-us 2005 Ford Mustang V6....
Ford builds great cars and I'm really excited for my wife and I to have a Mustang.

Love the car but have some questions that I have looked for, but not need anything in regards to answers :

1.) I'd like to change the exhaust note (4.0L engine)....My parents have a 4.0L in their 2003 Explorer, and honestly, the Explorer's exhaust note gurgles more at idle, and sounds more aggressive to me when moving. Does anybody have a Mustang exhaust that sounds more like the Explorer's exhaust note (2002-2010 V6)? I understand that the engines are 90% similar and that they do have some differences (ie the intake is different, etc).....Any ideas?
I'm a big fan of OEM/stock things, but this is a Mustang and I'm not a fan of the exhaust.

2.) What brands of the stripes should we buy ? Ford's Pony stripes are like 350 dollars and I see some that cost less on other website (americanmuscle.com)......Any ideas?

3.) Is an intake really worth it ? I would like greater gas mileage if anything. Additional power would be great, but not needed.

4.) What headlights would work best in the 2005 ? I see they are the 9008. Phillips CrystalVision Ultra ? Silverstar Ultra? Others ? I'd like to stick with a Phillips or Sylvania for the simple fact that they wont kill my harness/easy to get replacements. I've had some bulbs that behave better in certain cars than others (ie a 2001 Taurus with regular Silverstars - did little compared to my Five Hundred)

5.) Is it true that to get the fog lights on the grill, a new grill, lighting assembly and fog lights = $400-$500 ? Any less expensive way ?

Thanks for reading my post, and again, glad to be amongst many Mustang fans!

We make an axle back system for your v6. It will give it a more throaty sound, might be what you are looking for. Also a Cold Air Intake can help your performance and gas mileage. May not make huge MPG gains but it will not hurt it. As far as the stripes, go to American Muscle, unless you want a Steeda stripe kit And finally the Sylvania Ultra's are a great choice.
Hope this helps.
