Hey bnickel

Looks Great this is the next step for my car when the weather breaks around here.
Did you have it completly striped to bare metel then painted? Do you have before pics? Did you remove all the parts yourself? I need to build my grage befor I can start mine.

Looks sweet! I see you got your GT stripe in plce too. Is all your metal pieces recromed and polished? (Or less expencive... baught new) Nothing ruins a nice paintjob as much as bad chrome! If not, do it, it's what your GT deserves.

i stripped it down as far as i could. i removed all the trim, the interior, the fenders basically everything that was bolted to the outside of the car came off. the body shop handled all the paint stripping stuff, they sanded it down to bare metal and removedall traces of the old paint, bondo etc.

i do have new bumpers and a few other small chrome prices are new. most of the stainless trim has been polished but i still have a bunch that i need to polish yet. some of the chrome will have to wait a bit untill i can get some more money saved up so for now i will put the best of the old chrome together with a few extra pieces i have and make it look as good as possible for now, i have a few pieces i need to have re-chromed as well so it's all a matter of time and money from heren out.

thanks for all the compliments guys, it's been 20 years since tha car had an actual paint job on it, most of that time it was in primer with a couple of really cheap paint jobs thrown in for extra sanding down the road

i have some but they are on some kind of old fashioned cellulite picture storage membrane and i haven't figured out how to download them to the computer yet. one day i'll borrow a frinds scanner and post some but probably won't be soon, though.
