flat tappet cams REQUIRE a break-in which is like 20 mins as you stated, they need to quickly make their wear patterns
roller cam needs no special break-in, roller parts (lifters and cam etc....) dont need to make wear patterns, they dont wear.....

so you can buy used roller cams and use them with your own roller lifters and it will work....

Roller cams require no "break-in" at all. Flat tapet cams have a break-in proceedure that is vital to cam life..roller NONE. Engine break-in for me was starting her up..getting the FP and timing in check asap. Next jumping all over the bay like a monkey checking for leaks and strange sounds. Once temp is up and all is well....time for a little 15-20 mile drive, then back to the driveway for an all out check. After everything checks out and all is good I'd then look to make 3-4 good trips of 10-15 miles with lots of low RPM shifting, I took it up to 4000-5000 a couple time under light throttle in second or third..I chose not to go over 25% throttle at this time and allow complete cool down in between. At this point you now have aprox 75 miles on the motor...change the oil. Ok fresh oil and filter..no noises/leaks..time to drive!! for me it was very normal driving..no hard stuff as I was breaking in a new clutch at the same time and centerforce says 500 "nice" miles. There was some good throttle mashing likely once or twice every trip in second or third up to 5000-6000RPM just for me...but I kept the high RPM stuff down to bare minimum. Oil changes at 250/500 and every 3000 after that. This is just what I did..what my friends agree with..my "engine guy" agreed with..you can do it any way you wan.I baby mine because it's my money/effort...and I know this method works.

please re read my post, i stated that flat tappets NEED the break in and that roller doesnt.....

thanks, and the pizza is Appetitos, plain w/ steak on top, if you order steak pizza, they give you steak marinara, which is also good, but we wanted a normal steak pizza, it was delicious, cold though, the mufflers and pizza came a long distance - the cheese was actually moldy as well ... yea... lol

The finished product is only a few weeks away - (should be this weekend but it wont be) - test n tune time comin up, prepare to read alot of retarded tech posts and questions lol

When work is this quiet I tend to get a little bored and enjoy stirring it up a bit..he's a good kid, just have to be carefull offering info to others without making sure it's correct, or making note that it's just opinion.
