well as some of you know I installed a radio a few weeks ago and the next day it was gone. well yesterday I got a new one and hooked it up just using the factory wiring harness but I'm considering running new lines but need an amp first. anyways with the stereo hooked up I turned it on and had some sound but couldn't hear much I didn't have the antenna plugged into the head unit so it made since. anyways start heading down the road and I'm not hearing anything through the speakers well when I get home I start looking into it more and find the harness for the speakers is messed up so I bypass it and connect directly to the wires behind the connector and still nothing so I pull out the speakers and test them and they are all working fine so then I hook the speakers up the head unit with new wire and nothing still so I warranty the HU out and now with a new unit still nothing. any ideas? I have a 6 speaker setup the only wires i have hooked up are the red/power, yellow/constant, black/ ground and solid blue/ antenna.I don't think I need the amp wire hooked up since it doesnt need one.

I would have to see your set up, but is there a factory amplifier in your car? If so, has it been bypassed? If not, pull the head unit out. Leave it wired up, but disconnect one of the speaker wire sets. Run jumper from theses to an old speaker or one you have removed to test if the deck is putting out signal. If not, you will have to start tracking down wiring to see whats wrong.

If it is the 6 speaker premium with amp this may help:

On another note, I was not aware the Army issued the Combat Action Ribbon?

It doesnt have a factory amp. A friend of mine said to check and see if the pos and neg some how touched eachother and could throw the radio in a limp mode of sorts. He said the radio should have a reset button.

The army doesnt give combat action ribbons I need to change it I was trying to put the badge on but im not sure you can. What I need to do is just pull out my DD 214 and quite being lazy.

No worries. It is a possibility, but normally you will blow the fuse located at the back of the head unit. Try the reset normally located in a pin hole behind the face and see wha happens. Are you getting the display to light up? Take a lighted test probe and check to see if you are getting power. (If the display comes on you are). Double check your powered outputs (power ant and amp turn on). Then check the speaker outputs if all thats kosher. Scohse makes a nice probe that will display a red light for power or a blue light for grond when checking leads. You can normally find it a Walmart. Let me know if you get it fixed.
