What is the widest wheels I can run on the rear of a 88 foxbody?
And while I'm at it what year models of rear ends can I put under same car so I can have rear disc brakes?

It depends on 15,16,17,18, etc. And lowering springs? How much modification do you wanna do? Do you own a hammer? Do you wanna roll the fender lips? What do you have and what do you wanna do? Pics? 4 lug? 5 lug?

What offset/backspacing are the rims. Drums or disc brakes? As a general rule, you can probably get away with a 275/40/17 on a 17 x 9 rim out back.

Here is a good reference article to point you in the right direction.

I'm running 275/60-15 on 15 x 9 wheels, stock height and quads removed. Equilavent to 28" x 10.5". Rubs slightly when I hit a hard bump.

If you are gonna run rear disks, the answer to what rims you can run will be different than if you stick to rear drums.

So you need to decide what setup you are going to use first
