yeehaw! my x2c seats came today and overall im impressed. they are crazy light, i can actually pick them up with one finger... no joke. design wise they look good, nice and clean like they mean business. one was scratched up a bit in the back, but they told me that before they sent me out an will give me a very nice discount on ym next order. taking the back seat out at the same time so i really dont care if the back of the seats looks perfect or not. i'll have to drive around with them more over the last couple weeks but overall they feel pretty comfy and definitely hold you much better than a stock seat.

What color are they? What color is your interior? Can you still use the "power seat" function?

they are straight up black in a black interior. they match really well. cant use power seats anymore which is kind of a drag and like i said before the access to the back seat is kind of limited with them, so the seats really arent for everyone. the only other seats ive sat in are stock and corbeau legacies. the legacies were very comfy but double the weight and price.

Power seats are evil anyway, all they do is be heavy and break, lol. Pics man, pics!

Is there some kind of safety regulation to keep seat quality in check?

The really good seats are FIA certified.

Are they aluminum, steel, or fiberglass?

The discount is ok, but it would be better if they sent out perfect seats.

Also, break it down. How much were the seats, how much was shipping, did you have to pay tax, how long did it take for them to arrive, and how are you going to mount them?

Lastly, is there a mounting point on the back that you can attach to a cage? I know that is a requirement for certain SCCA classes and it improves safety because it takes some of the load off of the seat base and can keep you from moving sideways in a crash.

i dont know much about seat safety, if you're building a serious track car than obviously you should go w/ top of the line fia certified seats. they bolt on to the factory brackets with the help of special screws so im confident they are mounted pretty solid. they are the same seats x2c runs on their 9 second street cars, so unless they're suicidal i bet they're relatively safe

331 cobra: they gave me the option of getting perfect seats, i choose a 30% discount on my next order for ones slightly scratched where no one will ever see them. 30% discount= $700 TW heads, or about 500 off one of their tranny setups, etc... i dont know but i'd gladly save $300 on a set of heads in exchange for some small scratches on a sub $200 product

shipping did take longer than it should have, about two weeks

the invoice:
$360 for two seats
$75 for direct bolt in option
$50 for shipping from cali to north carolina

total was $485, about what im going to sell my old seats for.

i dont think they have a mounting point for a cage.
bottom line: if you want seats for your race car, look elsewhere and get something you know will meet regulations and mount properly to your cage. if you want lightweight street seats for hundreds less than corbeua, cobras, etc, i'd suggest looking at x2c. ill make sure to post my thoughts again after ive lived with them for a couple weeks.

thanks for the replies, ill get pics up tomorrow

Lets get together a group buy, I'll probably go for a TKO at 30% off.

can someone help me host some pics? i cant get the resolution down

driving impressions from today: definitely feels like im sitting lower to the ground, maybe an inch or so. tougher to get in and out but manageable. and the shoulderwidth is fine for me, but im 5'11" at 140 lbs. someone much bigger than me or broad shoulders would have a tough time with these seats.

The seats look nice. Not that bad of a price either for them. I want to get a nice pair of seats for my car, but right now the money is best spent elsewhere

I know this is off topic, but how do you like your nittos? Do they stick alright?
