I just put a pair of corbeau GT2 seat's in there great much better then stock!!

Here's some I shot today. I spent a few hours pulling the upper intake off to I can send it to Jet-Hot, then pulled my valve covers off so I can send them for chroming, now I'm working on my lower intake to send to Tmoss for porting. Here's your shots.

holy **** thats huge!!! can you post that side view pic of your car CarNut?? im trying to gauge ride height with different springs and i remember you had a side view pic a while back...

Will do tomorrow. Had to take them off a while back for a project, but now that it's over I need to swap it back. I'll post it here when done AND all my old links should be restored for anyone doing a search.

Well I drove the car a bit today. These seats are deeper (front to back) than stock and I need to have the seat at the full forward position to achieve the same legroom as I did with the stockers. This is where the extra leg room comes from.

I measured the distance from the brake pedal to the base of the seat back on both seats.

Stock = 41"
Cr1 = 43 1/4"

I need to improve the quality of my pics, but I think this will do for now. The first pic doesn't even have my newer headlight kit.

I really like the drop I have, because it is not a lot yet still gets rid of the 4x4 look. The seats are great and look/feel way better than the cloth stockers.

Iam really interested in the weight difference. did you get a chance to get a wieght comparison?

I had already gotten the seats in when I remembered about weighing them. I might have to remove the seats to get them re-covered. I will weigh the Corbeaus when I do that.

Honestly, just moving the seats in and out, I didn't feel like I was saving a lot of weigh over the stock cloth seats in my Cobra. I read somewhere that the Cobras had magnesium frames, maybe so. The Corbeau is lighter until you put the slider on. I think my net weight savings was really only in the motor for the power driver's seat.

If you have an interest in selling your seats, pop them on Ebay. I sold mine to some kid in California for MORE than I bought my Corbeaus. Then he bought my back seat, and that's when I put a rear seat delete in. Not a bad deal.

thanks man....not lowe enuff for me tho...idk what it is, but its gotta be low....i think i may get coilovers cause they lower it a lot, but are also good for the track, which i will be going to...well all kno how bad weight transfer is with lowering springs

I'm about 1/4 inch or less away from scraping my driveway right now due to the X-pipe. No clearance issues anywhere else I've been. The handling is incredible, but I'm sure it would not do as well at a dragstrip like you said. What about H&R Supersport springs? They provide good handling and almost a 2" drop. I think there are a few people on here with them who have posted pics in the past.

When I took out my stock cloth front seats, the driver's seat and motorized slider was a whole lot heavier than the Corbeau seat and Corbeau slider. The stock passenger seat combo weighed more, too. I've still got everything, so I could probably weigh the stock stuff pretty easily.

yea i love the way the H&R supersports lower the car, and how well they handle evidently, so its either gonna be those, or 4 cyl springs in back, and coilovers up front...

Got some weights for you all!!

Okay here it goes:

Stock cloth Cobra Passenger seat: 40.5lbs
Stock cloth Cobra Driver's seat: 47.5lbs

Corbeau CR1 with Mustang Specific slider: 33lbs each seat

So you save 22lbs in the seat swap

Yeah, for some reason I was thinking 27lbs saved. So I'm glad you have better data. I swapped mine out about 4 years ago, so I couldnt remember. I suggest throwing a towel on the seats if you want to get more life out of them.

Did you have leather seats? Maybe that's the difference?

Are you saying that the seats wear out pretty quickly? The seats that I bought are at least two years old - I am the third owner. Is your car a DD?
