I brough it home about a week ago, '89 LX hatch with 72,000 original miles. the car's as original as it gets not one modification anywhere. The guy I bought it from had it for about a year, and had bought it from a little old lady who was the original owner. As it sits right now I plan on changing at least the wheels, and possilby doing some kind of cat back exhaust. Since this cars is in such good original shape I don't want to go too overboard with all the aftermarket parts avliable for it. but I thought you might enjoy seeing it. This is my first time uploading photos onto here so this may or may not work.

matter of fact, i think it is his car and that somebody may be lying.

okay after talking to 25th, i retract my statement about somebody lying, but damn look at the two cars and tell me they dont look alike. lol

plus it wouldnt be the first time somebody used his car, just not before the awesome paint.lol

Nah not my car, but there were a few of those made. I think it was a New England area Ford dealer that put those exact stripes on them, and every one was an 89, white on red with an auto, power everything (not seats) and maybe even 2.73s. I have seen 3-4 of them out there. It's by no means special but they all shared that same look!

Yeah it was a dealer-only package. They dealer would buy a regular LX for cheap, toss some decals and pony emblems on it and tack on $1500 as a "special anniversary edition" Mustang.

Personally, if it was my car i'd remove the pony fender emblems and the decals and then have a true clean stock Mustang.

I wouldn't consider the stripes and emblem a premium. In fact it would turn me off to the car

No idea, they just stopped them, I assume to avoid the Mustang lettering on the back bumper, and to make things easier.

Thats what I thought at first too. It sure is an interesting 'package'.

What are your plans for the car?

The package adds nothing other than tape and badges.

BUT they are faster than regular ones...

wow! this is a pretty active forum, and yes you are correct it was a dealer package, and personally I'm not that crazy about it. There's a dealer sticker on the back bumper it says Schultz Nanuet, NY so that's most likely where they came from. As for my plans with it, well those wheels really don't do much for me so I'm looking at something like the Shelby Gt500 wheels, I think they call them FR500s, if anyone has a picture of a white LX with these wheels I'd appreciate it. After that most likely some type of cat back exhaust. It has 2.73's in it now, and I want to raise that number just a little, I'd love to have a 5 speed, but the previous owner just put a new AOD in it, so I guess I'll see what happens. Ohh and I picked it up for $6,000.

Good to know about Schultz, looks like I have some research to do about the cars!

The gears if you don't mind a little RPM 4.10s are a great one to choose. As far as wheels if you do go with FR500s, you will need a 5-lug swap, but the right one with some DD 18" FR500s would look sex!
