well i purchased a 04 SVT Focus and so far i love it. but i've got some questions that all SVT owners should be able to answer.

#1, isn't there supposed to be some kind of plaque or tag in my car with the build number?

#2, is SVT going to send me the info to register with the SVTOA?

Congrats. I didn't think they were offering the SVT focus any more, maybe that's next year. As far as the build date and other stuff, I'm not sure. I know the cobra owners get a bunch of stuff. By the way, how is the performance of that thing? I heard they are fun as hell to drive.

2004 is the last year for them. it's extremely fun to drive. my modded GT is no slouch in the corners, but the SVTF blows it away. the acceleration is good for a n/a 4cyl. the 6 speed is very smooth. the ride quality is great. if BMW were to make a Focus, this would be it, only more reliable. that's about the best way i can describe it. it's a great compliment to my GT.

svtoa registration

Unless it's changed.... first year registration is automatic, if you buy new from an svt dealer. If not, log on to svtoa, register, get the conact info for your local chapter, and... prepare to have some fun. For a small stipend, and upon proof of ownership, svtoa will send you a certificate --signed by messrs, Scarpello and Coletti, stating your build date, build-number, and total model-year build quantity. I framed mine, and at hood-up "cruises" it sits nicely --and proudly atop the fan shroud.

The svtoa personnel are great... I bought '03 Cobra wiper arms (designed to stay on the glass at 140 mph) to replace those on my '01, except, my local mechanics couldn't agree which way to install them --airfoil leading or trailing. In frustration I called svtoa, the response... "...good question, hang on a sec." at which point the rep. ran through the svtoa parking lot, checked the wipers on 3-'03 Cobras, then returned to the phone out of breath, and confirmed correct installation!
