Well, it has come time for me to get new tires...I did get 35,000 miles out of them!!! So here is the question: I need a good tire that handles well in all conditions. I don't want to sacrifice the handling though. I don't race my car, and hardly ever smoke the tires...Oh, I have a 2002 GT coupe. I have been doing some reading and I am somewhat interested in Cooper Cobra GTZs...I also like Perrelli tires...Can somebody please reply with some feedback on what they have experienced with some of their tires? I also am on a budget and don't want to spend over $175 per tire. I'm hoping to escape with a good tire with a longer treadlife than my Goodyear Eagles. Well, thanks for the help!!!

I just got another set of BFGoodrich KDW tires for my 01 GT. They are awesome in both the dry and wet weather. I got them from the local Ford dealer for $162 a piece and that included mounting and balancing. They aren't going to last 35K miles though. I got 28K out of my last set. You might look at BFGoodrich KDWS, they have a higher treadwear rating.

BFGoodrich KDWS

Might be worth a look

I have the Yoko AVS ES100 on right now and they are doing pretty good. Down here in Florida we have been driving in the rain alot these last few weeks and they work really well in the rain. I can break them loose pretty easy though. Not to bad for the price. $127 on tires.com.

Nitto 555's have been the best tire for me so far. Great grip and traction and not expensive.

Thanks guys...I was actually reading on tirerack.com about Pirelli P-Zeros which were rated #1. They are only $140 each, which sounds like a fair price. Does anybody know anything about these?

Thanks

You will want to look at the tread wear ratings. The KDW I use has a tread wear rating of 300 as does the Nitto 555, the KDWS has a treadwear rating of 400. Whatever brand you look at I think you are gonna have to look for a tire with a treadwear rating higher than 300 if you are looking for more than 35,000 miles.

Ive had several different types of tires on my stang..The BFG KDW's, Firestones, and Nitto 555's.. In my case the factory GoodYear Gatorbacks lasted longer than any of the others!

bfg kdw and kdws are 2 different tires. had a set of kdws's on my 01 and they are a great tire. i have a set of bfg tractions on the car, supposed to last 60000 miles. good all around tire. i had a set of dayton daytona hrs for 35000 miles, could have got 10k more if i rotated and balanced and had the damn car aligned 450 out the door for the daytons and they are an excellent tire dry or wet. tractions seem good so far. the kdws's rock ass love them.GOODYEAR GATORBACKS SUCK BIG FAT JUICY STINKY DONKEY BALLS. Ive had a few tonight, but if you get bfgs get the kdws's or the tractions. want a good cheap tire with good wear dayton daytonas. want a ****ty tire that is bald at 20k with no abuse get the goodyear gatorbacks
