New to everything!

Hey guys, I am new to the forums, get ready to FLAME! My friend is hardcore into mustangs (as he should be) and i never knew anything about cars, until i recently got my license. But I never had a good car, and no job! But that is all changing as I have my job, and for a graduation gift and my money I'm going to buy me a 5.0! Problem? I Know nothing about cars except the VERY basics . We all started somewhere right? hehe, i've been trolling the forums for a while and reading, some stuff I get a LOT i don't. I was just wondering if I could get some links to information on sites and such, and blah blah. I am really interested, and when I get my 5.0 hopefully I'll be posting more! So hopefully my friend helps me and you guys can help me too if you want! Haha sorry for the long post Flame away!
