New to Stangnet

I wish I would have known about Stangnet when I was building my II. There is a lot of great infomation here. I put my car on cardomain.com and Megan (fastmustangII) saw my page and invited me here. Lo and behold, I find a few Mustang II fanatics that are very familiar (et, JeffNoel, T0basc0, among others)

Anyway, I posted my pics in the member update thread and had a lot of questions regarding my 78 so here it is best I can describe:

I had a 78 II back in 1987 when I was 17 and after I sold that car about 12 years ago I have been sorry ever since. Well now I have an actual job and have convinced the wife to let me build my own car, I went back to the car I loved most. It took me a year to find a II that was worth working on and then 2 years to build it. Here's the lowdown:

78 Mustang II (I call it a Cobra II now even though it's not a true Cobra)
Ford Racing 347 running about 10.5/1 compression
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and intake
Edelbrock 750 carb
MSD Ignition
Dynomax Blackjack headers(ebay)
Deep sump oil pan
C4 TCI Streetfighter automatic
3000 stall converter
8.8 inch rear end with 31 spline, 5 lug, Strange axles, posi, 3.73 gears swapped from a 95 ranger and completely rebuilt. (Fox body Stangs have the 8.8 too)
Painted with Dupont Chromalusion Blue Steel
15x7 American Racing Torq Thrust D's front and back
205/60/15 up front and 245/60/15 in the back.
The interior was red but it's now black and I'm currently looking for some seats. I still have the Herb Tarlick red plaid seat in the back and some temproary seat covers on the front.
I've never had it to a show because I just finished it.

Great choice on the rear end! I did it too and am running 3.73 with the axle gridle from ford svo.

Have gone to the track yet? times?

Oh man!!! You'd think a hundredth of a second wouldn't be much, but in this case I guess it makes a big difference. I hope my car is that fast. I haven't been to the track yet. Still breaking it in.

Very VERY nice job! Car looks great! Awsome color choice. Looks like it could be a slight color changer, either that or it has a good amount of pearl in it. Great job, makes me what to get out there and attack my car with a DA sander now.

Hey TheEvII, welcome aboard!!!!!! I agree with your statement above completely and want you to know that the guys and gals on here pretty much went through the same feeling. We are dedicated to these cars and appreciate each other's help along the way. As for me, I fell in love with the charlie's angel car back when my family used to watch it on a weekly basis. I never forgot the car and found mine after three years of searching (before having my first child). This car is my dream car, not a porsche, ferrari, etc. I'd sell them and buy the parts for the II . Anyway we are here to help and congratulate you on your choice to return to the II.

Oh, actually I think cobraIIlover can buy his porsche after all the parts I bought from him.
