Just wanted to say hi to everybody, cause I'm new to this forum, and i'll be lurking around here a lot now. I have much to learn about the 4.6, as I just sold my '95 Cobra and bought a 2001 GT vert.

I'm already addicted to modding my cars, so let me know what you think about my first ideas (runnin low on the $$ so they're pretty basic);

- weld in Flowmaster 40 series
- o/r h-pipe
- MIL eliminators
- Mach 1 chin
- K&N FIPK gen II

I do have a question tho: how do the modular motors respond to the free'd up exhaust? I know my 5.0 loved it!! But it remember hearing stories of power loss.

O yeah, since ill be picking up the car in two days i can't look at it and i have a question about the mufflers; could anybody tell me which flowmaster to order (where are the inlets and outlets)?

Thanks
Kyle

welcome.

the 4.6L loves exhaust mods as well. 2V's have gained as much as 32rwhp with full exhausts on otherwise stock engines. if i were you, i'd save up for a complete catback and not just mufflers. the stock piping isn't that great.

for cheap mods, check out u/d pulleys and the Steeda timing adjuster.

I agree with 1low. If it's a 5-spd. car then a shifter is mandatory. Gears are always the best bang-for-the-buck grin-getter out there. You'll have to correct the speedo with either a SpeedCal (if you're 5-spd.) or a chip / computer re-flash. The big clog in the exhaust system on these cars is the mid-pipe, you'll free up the flow a lot better by replacing the mid-pipe with an O/R or Hi-Flow catted than you will by replacing the mufflers. Subframe connectors are a sure bet as well, they will end the twisty-ness inherent in these cars.

Good luck with the new ride!

I second subframes connectors for a vert.
Your initial list seems good to me..maybe get a mach1 grille delete as well..
