I don't know anything about how they are in the snow. Traction control is an option though.
Shifting is great IMO. You can easily make it shift harder, if that's what you want, with a tuner.
Curb weight is around 3400-3500LBS? IIRC, 0-60 is 6.9, 1/4 mile is 15.3 with an auto. HTH!

Quick winter review;

First, mine is a 5 Speed

I bought My 06 in October and have driven it through the winter here in New York. We have been hit with a number of 3 to 12 inch snow falls and a crazy 2-3 inch ice rain/snow dump. This is THE most stable car I have ever driven in the snow and it handles like it's on rails in the rain. I have ABS and Traction Control and the Pony package with the P-Zero Nero’s. These tires make a difference. Amazingly good all season tire and better than expected rain performance considering they don't have rain channels... I've cornered at over 50 in the wet (not recommended as luck does run out eventually)

I fishtailed once – passing an SUV; driver thought 20MPH was fast enough on a 3 lane hwy. I got the hammer down a little to fast. Lifted a bit, let the TC kick in and away I went. 3-4 inches of soft fresh, but well traveled snow... that's about 8 inches of compressed fall btw.

Loosed the back end (kick out) to the right once at speed – ice rain/dryish slush similar to new well traveled snow fall about 2 inches deep - I was going 50 MPH so I guess that’s my fault. Just had to lift, let the car straiten and settled in at 45.

I’m a bit nuts cuz I grew up driving in this stuff, but I push the car in all weather and I'm pretty impressed.

If you don't get traction control, toss a few sand bags in the trunk and drive with more mind than me and you'll be just fine.

As for the aftermarket; There are already many bolt on parts for the car from intake to exhaust and you can get a supercharger for it already through ATI. Turbo kits are still DIY for now I believe.

Check the links I posted, The Powerhouse Pipeline Turbo will be available March 1st. The Vortech is also supposed to be out then and there's the Explorer Express X-Charger coming soon also. Like you said, the Procharger is already out.

2) Since its RWD....is it bad in the snow? Decent? Or possibly good?

I have done just fine this winter in my 5-speed, I put a set of Blizzaks snow tires on it and it has all the traction I need and I have yet to use any extra wieght. I ran it through a parking lot with six inches of snow, did some doughnuts and drove right back out without getting stuck.

3) I have sat in a new auto stang...I LOVE how it felt...felt so right...but how is the shifting in the stang? Is this car good for a daily comute?(since I will be driving my next car through the year)

I use mine as a daily driver and commute about 15 minutes to work and back, shifting is second nature to me anyway so I have no issues. It depends on your route and how much you like to shift.

4) Curb Weight? 0-60? (ill look up this quickly online...)

I wieghed my at the grain elevator and the scale red 3320 without me in it. I will try to weigh it again tonight and double check, but I think that is accurate.

Ok, I checked the weight, 3340 lbs with a half a tank of gas. Of course this is a grain elevator so take it which ever way you want.

'05 V6 characteristics

I have driven my '05 T-5 in the snow with snows all of the way around with 300 pounds in the trunk and it went through like a 4x4. This is the first mustang (I have owned four previous) that I can say actually handled decently in the Michigan snows! With previous mustang fox-body types I have lost control on black ice and went off of the road with just a few inches on the ground and with this new mustang it is night and day! Today, I just took out the sand in the trunk as I don't think I will need for the rest of the winter as it handled so well with the snows and has been a fairly light winter (so far).

As far as performance parts goes, Procharger makes a supercharger that puts out 350 horse and Vortech just came out with a supercharger that claims 330 horse (I believe) at the rear wheels which will stomp on a new stock GT. The suspension and frame on these new stangs are real tight (a nice change from the older fox bodies) and like others have said it rides like its on rails!

I don't think you will go wrong buying one of these new styled mustangs as I am completely satisfied with mine.

As far as stock performance goes I just read a statistic in regards to quarter mile times and the 4.0L is faster than some fox bodied GTs of the 87-93 era. So, it does move!

The only thing I see that I will change in the future is to put in a 8.8" rear end if and when I install a supercharger to take the added torque to the drivetrain that will inevitably be a weak point with that much power!

How much better does the car handle with the Pony Package than without? I know it's got the sway bars...does it also have a different tire size?

it comes with the GT 17" wheels

I drove mine through the winter and the Pzero Nero's are good.
All I had to worry about was pushing snow (It was Deep).
The reason I posted in here is that with the pony package you get all the goodies.
