I have a 1970 Mach 1 that I will be buying new tires for after the first part of the year. Right now I have manual drum brakes all the way around and 15" wheels. I plan on going ahead and buying new 17x8/9"wheels since I need tires. My question...when I upgrade my brakes to all SSBC disc brakes will these wheels still fit? Thanks for any help.

a 17" rim i believe will clear a 13" (like the late-model cobra kits) rotor with no problems.

Well here's a pic of my 70 w/17's, I'm running a Vintage Venom 13"brake kit and 99-04 Cobra calipers.

ZINC--Do you have any shots of the full car? Although my coupe is a 68, I'd like to see the 17's and stance on the car.

Zinc, I would also like to see a full shot of your car. What size tires are those? So , I guess you can put the same wheels on drum or disc cars as long as they clear your rotors/calipers? Thanks.

I don't think you'll have a issue w/ the 17's. Here is pic of mine, I used the SSBC
rear disc conversion and had plenty of clearance w/ the TTII's, HOWEVER i borrowed a buddies 15x7 Weld Draglites at the track and the dust shield was rubbing on the inside of the Welds and I had to take them off..

Don't know yet I'm still installing the setup, I finished the front and am moving to the rear nest. Check out vintagevenom.com for the kit. The calipers and rotors I purchased used.

Here's how it looks at this time. I think I'm going to try and bring the rear down a little though.

Thanks, zinc. I'm trying to decide if I ultimately want to go w/ 17" wheels. I like the different brake setups that it will allow. I'm so 'hardwired' for the 15" wheels, that I appreciate your giving me a visual. Much appreciated!
