The pcv is known for sucking up some oil. Some people run a catch can so that the oil doesn't get into the intake. You can search on here for that.

Using a higher octane shouldn't cause ticking. As long as the sound goes away, I wouldn't worry too much. Something in the valvetrain may just be sticking and it goes away as the engine heats up.

The wining is most likely the serpentine belt. As long as it's not squealing

check the hose going from the PCV valve to the plenum for hole(s) or cracks and did you get an oem Ford PCV valve? aftermarket ones do not work well on Fords.......

the wining could be the belt, could be your radio not grounded properly, OR when i removed my intake silencer it began to make a cool sucking/whining noise when accelerating

Why are you running 93 octane?

The GT was made for 87 octane. It will make the most power with it. Running 93 is only wasting your money.

Does the whine sound like it comes from the transmission or shifter area?

are you serious?????? i use 91, and afraid to use 87 cuz of knocking or power loss, but im guessing im wrong on this. is it really better to use 87? sorry for taking it off topic. i know it was designed to perform with 87, but mines got its miles on it and its had to be torn down before for head issues, i thought running 91 would compensate for some of the wear and tear.

Try a tank of 87 octane. If you get on it and expereince some detonation (pinging) then try for 89 octane and see if it does it there.

91 is just a waste of money. Our engines are low compression and do not have a power adder so there is no need for high octane.

that elbow could be the problem as they are prone to leaks, I'd get a whole new hose n' elbow from FoMoCo as it seems to-be a fairly common problem wth them cracking and leaking.....

good to know moneys tight, and 3.40/gal. with 91 vs. 2.80/gal with 87 is gonna save me ALOT lol
