hey guys this will be my first time attempting to install an amp and sub in my car...right now i pretty much know nothing about electronics.....i have a 400W 10" sub, and a 400W amp...everything else is stock and its going in my beater 97 mazda 626. Well i unhooked one of the stock back speakers and hooked those wires to the sub..That works, just sounds the same...now time to hook up the amp so i can get a little beat..i dont care if its ghetto rigged or what, i just want it to work. Well it looks like a engine wiring harness theres so many wires coming out of the amp. We have 2 power wires, 1 ground, 4 speaker wires, a small green, and then there are the input wires that plug into the amp like LF,LR,RF,RR. I need help!?!!?!?!
i dont even know where to begin really
will this even work???????????
any help is appreciated

12V-straight to the battery, usning 8 GA or bigger with inline fuse(50amp or bigger)
Ground-near amp, less then 18" is best onto clean metal
Remote turn on-from headunit, usually blue that has power when stereo is powerd on
speaker output leads-go to speaker
RCA from stereo to amp unless using low level inputs(speaker leads from stereo)

I'd let someone else install it or you might end up frying that amp.

if its its a stock stereo, it wont have a remote turn on wire, so will have to use a key switched(power with key on) wire to supply the small amount of voltage to turn the amp on.Aslo you will eihter need a hi/low converter or use the hi level inputs on the amp.The speaker output wires will be left and right(+- and +-).Depending on how you wire the sub(bridged or stereo) will determine the wires you use.i think you might be better off paying the 35 bucks to have it installed.

IF you have a test light find the wire on the back of the stereo that only shows power with the key on this is where your remote wire connects. all this wire does is close a normally open ic circuit in the amp. btw be sure to keep as much room as you can between ground and power wires. Also run your rca wires down opposite side of car to retard the amp whine.
