I just bought an 04 black gt with 25,000 on it.The cars been great except for a few problems its having latley. Its got a slightly rough idle and you can here it pop every once in a while in the exaust.I was leaning toward a COP but the stealership it was at did a balance test on the WDS and found nothing(the tech that worked on my car was young and had only been there for a week).Ive got the 1-2 clash in the trans,I know dont even get me started on that. The service adviser says that some noise is normal. He says that was in TSB17510.I guess they didnt see the other TSB's on the 1-2 syncros been bad.Alos, when you turn right a and go over a bump, the drivers side suspension is popping.I took the "tech" for a ride and he said he noticed all the things which I was describing. But,a few hours later they called and basiclly acted like I was crazy because the car has no problems, they could not find anything.so I drove an hour away to the dealer and got stuck with a taurass overnight for nothing. Then I get home,I notice a bunch of scuffs and scratches on my drivers side door and rocker. When I picked up the car,it had tons of greasy hand prints on the door panel (light tan interior),gresey prints were everywhere on the car:mad: .If I would have pulled that crap in my shop,I would have been canned.Anyway, anyone have these problems with the misfire or suspension?I dont want to touch it at work because of warrenty crap.I have not had a chance to throw it on a scanner yet and see whats going on(no SES either).Oh yeah DO NOT ever bring your car to court street ford in boubonnis IL,they suck.:nono: Very rude and have no clue what the hells going on.Sorry for the rant but it seems like fords customer service is horrible. Thanks in advance.

I have had the same experience with my dealership, you don't live in Palm Bay Florida do you? People have no respect for other peoples property or take any pride in there work. My car is just came back from it's third trip from the local Ya Hoo's (Ford dealer) Loose bolt's, missing bolt's, leaks and stripped oil pan drain plug, all of this came from replacing the right head. I can keep going, if you have the means and the knowledge fix it yourself you will have less hassles. It's sad we pay for a warrenty but it's no good, dealership tryies to get out of everything possible and if they fix something they make it worse.

I will never let them touch my car again. There are good dealerships out their but they are rare, same regards for tech's good one's are rare.

^^^^^ sad but very true, this is why nobody touches my cars but me. In fact I feel so strongly about it that If I bought a GM car I would just ignore the warrenty and still fix it myself. I rather pay for it out of pocket and know it was done right.

Yeah,I usally fix everything myself but since its still got the 3yr/36,000 on it I was kinda leary.Im sure they would have tons of stuff wrong if I was paying out of pocket though.Im actully part of a lawsuit against ford for the 3rd gen v8 sho's cam failures. These things blew cams very early in life and a SHORTBLOCK was $17,000!So if your cams blew, the warranty would not cover everything and some people ended paying lots of money to have this fixed.I had my cams welded and it set me back 500.00.There was a tsb to locktite the sprockets to the shaft to prevent slipping, but they deny the cams were faulty.Fords warrantys suck as Im sure the other ones do too but ive owned fords my since ive been driving so I wouldnt know how they are. This is my first new(new to me,got it with 17,000 on it)and I dont know if I will ever a new(er) ford again.Ive also got an 88 turbocoupe thats in the high 12s and that car is always beat to **** and dont even have the problems this car has and thats things almost 20 years old.Its seems the big 3go down hill more and more every year. Its no wonder why they are doing so bad.Anyway,Any ideas abou the misfire and suspension?I think im going to drain the factory fill in the trans(I think ford used mobil1)and put some GM syncromesh and see if that helps with the grinding.TIA!

I hate to say it but my misfire was a valve issue. They replaced my right side cylinder head due to worn valve guides which caused a bent valve on the exhaust side making a pop sound through the exhasust.

I hope that is not the case for you. Best of luck to you with your dealer, I told mine to get bent, I will buy a new engine out of my pocket before I would let them work on it again.

Just a thought if you want to persue this any further get the regional Ford rep for your area involved.
