Up until now, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) governance has kept the competition in the circuit limited to standard powertrains as they are produced in Detroit. After a paradigm shift, the NHRA has made the choice to allow the 2008 ROUSH supercharged 4.6L V8, which is commonly found under the hood of the Stage 3 Mustang and P-51A Mustang, into official NHRA competition. This historic change is said to be the first where the NHRA has allowed any aftermarket powertrain to be able to compete. Check out more details in the official Press Release from ROUSH Peformance.
