Up until now, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) governance has kept the competition in the circuit limited to standard powertrains as they are produced in Detroit. After a paradigm shift, the NHRA has made the choice to allow the 2008 ROUSH supercharged 4.6L V8, which is commonly found under the hood of the Stage 3 Mustang and P-51A Mustang, into official NHRA competition.
