Night at the track!!

So last night went to the track, i have a bone stock 99 mustang with a k&N filter and no mufflers with stock 16" 225 width tires first 2 runs spun all the way down the track. next run heated the street tires up a bit and busted a 2.0 60ft and a 9 flat (1/8th mile track). i was pretty excited. Rest of the night it was consistant 9 flats and 9.1's For street tires and nothing really done to the car i thought that was pretty good got to whip up on a 2006 mustang gt and a couple 98 cobras barely but it felt good. Maybe im a good driver and they were just terrible drivers?? lol

9.0 is great for a stock 99-04.

Especially with a 2.0 60'.

Sounds like you are a good driver.

thanks ive been driving a manual since a young age. my mother MADE me learn lol but im in Florida, tampa/st. petersburg area

the timeslips for my two 9 sec runs went as followed:


1st run
60' 2.097
330 5.908
1/8 9.012
MPH 77.79



2nd run
60' 2.136
330 5.928
1/8 9.076
MPH 78.00

what i dont get is how my 1/8 was slower in the second run but my mph was higher

Good job man! I agree a 2.0 60' in a stock GT is some pretty good driving. What tires are you running?

The reason for that is this...

The first run your 60' was better, meaning your car didn't spin as much. Less spinning usually results in a lower MPH but a better ET.

The second run you spun more, increasing your MPH a little but slowing your ET.

So you removed the mufflers? i guess that saves weight, how does it sound? Im thinking about doing the same

yea i had my local shop remove just the mufflers and weld piping in to replace where they were removed so that the exhaust still ran out of the back. Sounds pretty good for just a muffler delete but you have to replace it with piping at least to run them back out the end of the stock pipes.If you just hack them off and take the rest of the piping out it will sound like complete crap!!! i get compliments often asking what kind of exhaust im running hahaha and alot better than stock with pretty good results for 30 bucks
