yeah, i just hope that the cheesiness (?) of it is due to the writers strike and that the rest of the series will be better.

so i'm not the only one that thinks this way?!! i truly think that it takes one hell of a writer and producer to make a remake on anything for that matter. although wasn;t the original KIT a T/A ?? at least the made an improvement there

Talk about a modern re-make... even included Lesbians! lol

Show wasn't that great and I think the car morphing is a little cheezy, but it sure looked sweet.

No such luck. A writer's stike is a strike, it not like they bring in scabs to write the show. I don't think a fixing lines is the most glaring problem....

My Impressions ($0.02, for what it's worth):
  • I am annoyed that this generation will think "KR" is "Knight Rider" and not King of the Road
  • It was a gigantic Ford commercial. This I get; placement of an entire company's cars goes back to Dukes of Hazzard (ChryCo) and beyond, HOWEVER....
  • How the hell does a 5,000lb POS Edge SUV keep up with a GT500KR on a windy mountain road?
  • Same guy that did original KR has name on this one. Some of the campiness shows through. The military aspect gives it a touch of A-Team or Mission Impossible.
  • Excellent special effects, though it's obvious that the budget for them cut into the rest of the production budget. Note that the set from the Montecito (another NBC show) was used for Las Vegas
  • Editing was done by a beginning high school vo-tech student.
  • Overal it felt like a low-budget barely fit for the Sci-Fi channel (fire the editor!). That's probably where it's going if not for the $$$ from Ford and the Hof's involvement.
  • Nice references to the old KITT's T/A parts in the garage.
  • Raise your hand if you'd be thrilled to discover the Hof is your father! No? Didn't think so. At least he's playing someone his age. I just hope Garth doesn't return
I will most likely watch it if The Wife doesn't trump the DVR timeslot.

enough from me - REACTION!

what i meant by the writers strike comment was that it's obviously affecting the networks budgeting, hence the super cheezie graphics and effects......i hope anyway. that's also probably why it was a giant ford commercial.

seeing the old kitts parts in the garage and the Hof makes me wonder if there will be a father son crime fighting team of Mike and Michael at some point. or maybe Michael and the old Kitt will have to come rescue Mike and the new Kitt

The Hoff, as Mike Sr., buff in the speedo... wait, wrong cheesy rescue scene....
I suppose Junior has an evil twin, too! How about the Super Pursuit mode! A THIRD ricer wing!!!

snooping around the Knight Rider fansites, it seems that the producer (Glen Larsen, who made original KR, and Battlestar Galactica) loves recycling stock footage. So see about a hundred more shots of the Cobra in he front grill during a chase scene....

Seriously, let someone else have at it.

I watched the first 20 minutes or so then I couldn't take it anymore. First the 540+ hp couldn't lose the 235hp Edge even on the "mountain" road. Then when the car went into "high speed" mode and sported that cheesy double-decker rear spoiler I was done.
I can't imagine watching this as a series.

It's cheesy, but it's supposed to be. I mean do you not remember the original?

I agree about the car chase though.

I enjoyed it I guess. Seems like they stole ideas from that Viper show, but that's ok. We will see, hopefully the show gets better.

On another note, I'm really enjoying the new Terminator show.

This show needed a few more months in production. I can understand that the script was rushed and didn't get any final treatments, but the special effects where horrible and the acting and editing was pathetic. It doesn't even belong on day time television IMO.
With that said, I sat through the whole thing (DVR'ed it so I didn't have to sit through all the ford commercials) and it was entertaining. If the polish it up some more, I can see it lasting a few seasons.
Nice car though.

When the original Knightrider came out I watched the movie and don't remembering it being all that cheesy. However when the series started I don't think I lasted two episodes. I don't belive I will be watching if this new one becomes a series.

However, I agree, the Terminator show isn't bad.
