I totally shredded my fan belt today. And along w/ having my power steering/brakes and water pump stop - i go to turn on my emergency lights and they dont work. Turn em off and try the blinker, now THEY dont work! I have a feeling it wasn't caused by the belt shredding tho, cuz last time i needed to use my emergency flashers years ago i had blinker problems after too. Which fuse do i check? Most of em look fine

We don't have belt driven fans.

The only thing i know is that it could be real dusty in the hole where the hazard light button is. Blow all of the dirt out and then try it. It happened to me once.

i know that we have an electric fan and a separate serpentine belt, heck i should; i replaced it today. What do you mean by the dust? Im having problems w/ using my blinkers now, the emergency lights arn't really a problem

You know where the emergency light button is on top of the steering wheel column. Dust collects in large amounts around the button in the hole. You can vacuum it out of blow it out. My signal quit working one time and that fixed the problem.

it is possible that a blown belt can slap and break wires under the hood. It is therefore possible that it slapped a wire that shorted out one of your up-front parking lamp wires, maybe blowing a fuse.

If it happened at the same time (belt broke, turn signals suddenly no longer work) I'd suspect they are related and look to see what might have been hit. At reasonable RPM levels, that belt is flying around and it has a ton of energy when it slaps something.

I agree with this, also check the bulbs for good measure.
