Nitro R/C Cars/trucks

I want to get into nitro powered R/C car/trucks and was thinking of something like a truck that i can take on and offroad. I would like something with easily replacable parts in case I wreck it. Where are some good sites I can go and research this stuff?

A Stadium truck is a great truck. Do not get one of those bulky 4X4's. They are terrible off road (nose heavy) and worse on the street. Get extra A-Arms and glow plugs when you purchase the truck. These two items are the things I'm always buying. There is an off road track down the street from me and it's so much fun. The all wheel drive buggy's rule out there.

what do you mean by stadium truck? How are the traxxas revo 3.3 trucks?

I drove one of my friends before. He had a Viper and a truck.

I personally would never get a car like that, they are so low just a rock will get caught under them, unless you have somewhere really smooth to drive them. And in that case, they are awesome. We had it in the hospital parking lot before they made up get out, and let me tell you, that thing hauls ass. Its almost too fast to control.

The best bang for the buck one out there is probably the Losi Aftershock. It's basically an LST2 with more plastic. The parts are readily available since they are compatible with the LST2 and the engine they supply with it isn't bad.

I always liked the Traxxis Jato truck. I almost bought one, but decided not to, cause theyre kinda spendy... I think they would be fun to have tho

I don't know, the 1/10 stadium trucks are really meant for racing on a smooth ish course. The 1/8 scale monsters are pretty much good for anything. The Jato, however, is ridiculously fast. It's pretty fun to see one of those doing almost 70mph

That Ofna is pretty decent for the money. You can have loads of fun with the buggies off the track too.

You could also look into a Truggy (basically the same thing as the one above but with longer A-arms and much bigger tires).

You could always go with a Revo 3.3, but those are too expensive. On the other hand, they are so popular that the parts can be found in any hobby shop out there.

I have a savage with alot of work upgrades done. But you don't need much to jump the savages like the video. They come pretty solid for a stock 4x4 truck. I had 2 T-Maxx's before getting a savage and I do "not" regret selling the T-Maxx's The savage is definitely a great 4x4 all around truck and it's easy to tune with the stock engine and parts are easy to find. Heck I have almost enough parts to build another complete savage...

I also own an ofna mbx 1/8th scale buggy. have more fun with this than the savage, because this one just screams with the mods done to it. But it doesn't take the beating and it can't go on really rough terrain.

Here's some pics. The yellow savage is my stock one and the purple one is the modded one. The last pic is of the buggy.

To give you an idea of what can be done. The purple savage has an extended chassis, wider wheel offset, real beadlock wheels, upgraded shocks, exhaust, electronics, 3 speed tranny with reverse, and a 2.8 horse engine (stock is 0.6 horse).

The buggy is stock except the electronics, exhaust, and a ported and polished engine. It blows away the savage, even with the 3 speed tranny.

I have a 2.5 T-maxx its been a good truck, (I have not ran it in a long time) and can find a lot of parts for them.

I've had a revo, tmaxx, and a 1/8th scale buggy. I got into racing them for awhile and they are alot of fun but they can be pretty frustrating when they are having problems. I really liked my revo and done many mods to it. I bought mine before the 3.3 came out. If I was ever to get into it again I would get revo 3.3. They are ok stock but rock after a few modifications.

Get a monster truck because they are built fairly stong and can go nearly anywhere.

if i had to do it again i would def go with the savage.... loved that thing.... other than that i had an eletric car, hpi sprint.... after it was all hopped up and said and done, it did about 30mph on smooth surface, 25 in street, but it was wild....

for a banger of a truck, def a savage..... hpiracing.com i believe

I started with a RC 10 GT, went and bought a t-maxx 2.5, and about 5 months ago I bought the jato. They are a kick in the ass, the jato is wicked fast, and I got a nitros kit for it, just havnt put it on yet. Get the aluminum parts for it, money well spent. Also when replacing the clutch, get an all metal gear.

I have the 1/8 scale HP Savage 25. That thing is a blast. If you want something good for offroad go with the 1/8 scale trucks. They can take a good beating off some big jumps and theyre pretty darn quick on the road with the 2 speed transmission
