I ordered a complete NX kit and will be installing it in my car. I have a diablo tuner and can probably get a custom tune emailed to me but I was wondering do I need a chip to have multiple tunes or can the Nitrous tune be used as my daily driver tune aswell. The NX will be turned off at all times unless i go to the track. I saw the SCT eliminator 4 bank chip, which it looks good but is it necessary.

It will depend on what size of n2o shot you are planning on getting the tune for. I got a tune from www.brenspeed.com for a 75hp shot and I can drive it around with that tune loaded without any ill effects.

go with SCT livewire and hawk your predator on Craigslist. I'm gonna be selling my SCT handheld on craigslist here shortly for 200 bucks. The livewire is just plain awesome!

Its the same thing as the Predator, I won't be doing my own tunes so its kind of pointless to buy it. I just needed something that can program my computer with a custom tune I buy.

SCT Livewire and Predator are nothing alike at all. They feature some of the same options - but the interface of the Livewire is currently totally proprietary and unique to that platform. You can't use a Predator to datalog like the SCT and you can't use your Predator to get readouts (ie: functioning as a dash mounted gauge pod) for 6 different metrics. Your Predator doesn't do dyno estimates, nor does it do 0-60 clocks, or 1/4 miles clocks with a built in starting tree. Totally different. Only similarities are that it plugs into the same port and has some of the same tunability options.

what i meant is they are the same as in all i need it for is to get a tune emailed to me, plug it to my car and program my car. I don't need all the other features for that (i think)

It might run a little rich and with a little less timing, but you will be alright. Most of the fuel will be added at WOT anyway.
