nitrous for my fox

Hi im about to buy nitrous for my car, the motor is basically stock, the mods I have are:
255 lph walbro fuel pump
frpp 3:73 gears with trak-lok rebuild
frpp king cobra clutch
msd tfi coil, frpp cap& rotor, frpp 9mm plug wires
pro 5.0 shifter
subframe connectors
hypertech module
a/c and smog pump delete with shorter belt
solid motor mounts and energy suspension tranny mount
im gonna be running 26x8.5x15 slicks on stock turbine wheels

I wanna know if i can run 12s with all that and a wet 75-150 shot of nitrous?
should I be buying anything else for it, im sort of on a budget and I dont wanna spend alot I just wanna run 12s? would just a cam alone give me any hp gains without the heads and intake?

THANKS!

The stock intake will hold you back more than the heads and the cam so more than likely you would be very disappointed if you swapped the cam and kept the stock intake.

There are plenty of guys out there still running the stock cam and doing quite well with it.

Have you had the car out to the track in its current form? If so what are your times?

I would say that you can get into the 12s with the mods you have and a nitrous kit that can be adjusted from 75 to 150. You will have to play with it some and practice with it though. You can see the mods in my sig. 14.0s @ 100 mph NA and 12.72s @ 109 on a hundred shot and pretty much outta gear.

One more thing get a window switch. It will be the best 100 bux you spent, especially after you miss a shift and bang it off the rev limiter while spraying. It will save your motor.

100 shot will get you to 12's, but theres better ways to go about it then spraying a stock engine.
But is there a cheaper way? He did say he was on a limited budget.

Get a window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, colder plugs (autolite 24's), turn down your timing to 10 *, and have fun! You'll be surprised how fast the bottle will empty when you first get it.

I never said it was cheaper. Im on a budget too, but he wouldnt be building a car if he didnt have an income. He can save money. I could have gotten a 100 shot and blown my way to 12's by now but I decided to stick with the budget hci and im still going to hit 12's. Not telling him how to build his car, thats why all i said was it will get him into the 12's, but theres better ways to do it, just my opinion, might want to do somemore research as to what you would benefit more, ask some questions like can you enjoy the nitrous on the street? etc. Your on a forum your going to get peoples opinions.

Oh and youll need a decent set of rubber of course to break 12's

I would NOT run a shot with that crap 'hypertech' piece in the car..it's timing curve could likely cause some significant damage resulting from detonation. You will likely see better performance both on spray and off without the hypertec item by simply setting timing at 14* initial and retarding it 2* when on the bottle.

a filter is very important ensure one comes with the kit if not purchase one and you will need a few relays a window switch, a fuel pressure cutoff switch, you will need a bottle heater and automatic cutoff switch for the heater. a nitrous pressure guage and a blow down tube...you don't need all the above to run nitrous but in my opinion the above items are the bare minimum you will need to run nitrous safely and efficiently and alot of tracks won't let you run nitrous without a blowdown tube....you will need to figure in the above items which do not come with the kit as extra expenses....and it gets expensive...also did you get the door handles...

thanks guys exactly wut i wanted to hear now i just hafta take it to the track and make everything work, is there anything else I should consider besides a msd window switch?
Look at my post above, and as MOB said a good set of tires will be money well spent.

MOB---Whats "better" for one person may not always be "better" for another person. A budget h/c/i is still going to cost up to or over $1000 once everything is added up. A nitrous kit can be had for under $300 used. Yes thats your opinion of whats better (and mine as well). However he just wanted to know how to get to 12's the cheapest on a tight budget :D

this is true ;)

If your on a budget I wouldnt worry about control arms. Look at nitrous, slicks, and torque box reinforcements. You will be NEEDING alot of stuff to make it run perfect and safe, but if your on a budget, get the nitrous kit, and slicks and youll be in the 12's no problem untill you save up more money for the "insurance"

At a minumum the must haves for nitrous is a window switch for that stock ignition, at least a step colder plug and turn the timing back.
