I'd double check and make sure you have the correct fuel jet installed.

i do it was when i was running a 100 shot though if that makes a difference i ran a 75 and wanted to try a 100 and thats when it did it and when i got done spraying i pushed the clutch in and it dies like it runs out of fuel or sumtin

And what are your spark plugs gapped to?

At what point did it backfire? After you let off, when the spray came on, between shifts?

A few nitrous rules:

Don't spray below 3k
DO NOT EVER hit the rev limiter with nitrous
Don't powershift (shifting without lifting your foot off the gas) without a window switch
Make sure your plugs are gapped tighter than normal (.035 or so)

my plugs r gapped to .035 and it did it was when i let off and another time when i went to shift i think it happened so fast though im not power shifting im above 3 grand everytime and im not hitting the rev limiter so idk

It's illegal almost anytime you go WOT in the cobra too. It's called, exhibition of speed and any officer could give you a ticket for simply accelerating too quickly. Yes, a ticket just for accelerating quickly, under the speed limit, and without any tire spin. I think you should sell your car, because it promotes illegal activity. Get a life man.

Nitrous is legal in many classes of racing (thus, not cheating). It is legal for use on the track, and I personally ONLY spray on the track. It is safe when used properly. Of course, losers always say it is cheating.

You don't know crap about nitrous, so don't say anything at all. If you do want to say something, correct your statements to be TRUE. I have take the liberty to correct it below for you.

Nitrous is a good, cost effective modification. It's not cheating in many classes of racing. It's illegal to use nitrous on the street, however it is legal to carry the bottle in your car. Always read and follow the rules with nitrous, or it is dangerous.

While I agree there are a lot of immature drivers EVERYWHERE that do not need to be anywhere near nitrous, to come in here and play Officer Know-It-All as if you have never broken a law is , not to be a d*ck, just a touch hypocritical.

It is a bit of wishful thinking on my part to assume your average performance-minded Mustang owner has a basic understanding of the dangers and consequences that come along with nitrous use, but similar dangers come with even stepping behind the wheel of a V8 car in the first place. Just lighten up, drop the badge, and let em play. It's not your ass if other people get themselves in a mess.

How are you activating the nitrous? Wide open throttle switch, push button, throttle position sensor?

If the backfire were from the intake, you'd have much bigger issues, so I'm thinking the backfire is from the exhaust. That means it must be excessively rich. What jets are you running? Have a bottle pressure gauge?

it backfired through the exhaust once and through the intake once it blew my filter off im runny 46 nitrous jet and 30 fuel jet which is a 100 shot i do got a gauge but its not on right now and i just ran it again and it worked fine so idk what happened

I'm surprised you had an intake backfire and didn't destroy a bunch of stuff... like the plastic intake or throttle body.

I'm thinking the 30 jet on fuel with a 46 nitrous jet is a bit big. A 26 or 28 fuel jet might be closer to what you need. But it depends on a lot of factors... your car, bottle pressure, fuel pressure, ect, ect. Seems likely the backfires are from low bottle pressure and too big of fuel jets.

If you don't want to break ****, you should probably stop playing around and get a bottle pressure gauge, wide band O2 sensor and make a few runs on the dyno to dial it in. It should not backfire and that shows there is a serious problem. Consider yourself lucky that you didn't blow a hole in the side of your intake yet.

A 30 fuel jet is very rich for a 46 nitrous jet. My 100 shot calls for a 52 nitrous and a 28 fuel jet.

My 75 shot uses a 44 nitrous jet and a 26 fuel jet.
