Im going to go with No2 instead of a super charger. i went to a local shop that has a sniper No2 kit that will give me 100-150 shot. i want to stick with 100. i would a like a 75 shot but i cant find a plate setup for les than 100. anyway how do these engines behive when sprayed?
my head is bored 300 over, i have a mild cam, roller rockers/stiffer vaulve springs, new lifters, pushrods, performer intake mani and carb...
thanks guys

You can get a 75 shot. They just don't come with the jetting for it is all. Biggest things are to make sure you have the fuel setup for it, and all your wiring has good connections. Other wise they perform great !

I started out running nitrous about 10 years ago, used about 125 shot, that was eough to get me from a 13.40 to 11.8's,it was like getting hit in the back of the head.Just remember to run colder plugs, back off timing about 2*,run good gas,if not race gas(100 octane) and make sure the carb is set up right and have fun.

You could do it the cheap way...just use the kit or do it my way the not cheap way lol. I have about 1200 in my kit and haven't even used it yet but I have all the safty goodies and openers and what not.

Oh if you have stock 289 heads autolite makes a racing plug that is a few ranges colder than stock and they are the only ones I could find. I got them at autozone, I think stock is a 45 range and these are like 43.

A 100 shot shouldn't be a problem.

Just make sure you have your bases covered.

- Watch the timing. Should be retarted about 1 or 2* for every 50hp.
- Make sure your fuel system is up to snuff. Fuel pressure should not drop below 5PSI when using the N2O.
- Don't hit the nitrous until you are at 2500 RPM or higher (prevents nitrous backfires).

Be prepared to be grinning like a fool for a few hours after your first "test drive" There's really nothing like it.. best I can describe it is "a 100HP kick in the ass"

It's not a waste. It prevents nitrous lag and nitrous backfires.

I think most people on here ran a y line and another pump like a holley blue that activated when you armed the nitrous. I have a 5 gal fuel cell in my trunk I plan to fill with race fuel due to me haveing 10.3:1 compression.

hmm..so would i get a fuel cell and run a line from the cell to the holley pump. then run it....to the existing fuel line? so it would mix the fuel from the gas tank and the cell whenever the pump is on? i am intrested in this setup.

If you not running a 2 stage system or more then a 150 shot, dual pumps are overkill for a Sniper system. My buddy runs a 250 shot off a single pump and run a 130 on my 94 chevy truck

yeah i was wondering about if that may be to much. i think ill probably get HP hungry and work up to a 125 shot. but ill see about the double pump. i can get the purge kit for 50 dollars from a friend of mine.

Yes, but activating the nitrous system uses fuel and nitrous. That's a waste of fuel I like the purge. You can tell when the liquid is all the way to the front.

I run the seperate fuel system to my compression and running race fuel in the Nitrous tank. I also have a retard box as well. Like I said I'm anal but I'm also safe. Do I need all that for a 100 shot probably not. Will I need it later down the road if I go bigger...probably.
