I was just wonder what all your views on Nitrous was. I have read in many drag magazines about how so many people swear by it, and some that say it will just wreck cars. I was looking into getting this kit>> Nitrous Express I still would like to get the supercharger kit, but just so my car doesn't look gutless in the occational race , or track run, i was thinking of getting this in the meantime. Dollars wise, its much less... Has anyone installed one of these before???

In the meantime, Hell, you mean in addition to! Do both, but build up your bottom end first!

I agree, keep it under 100 shot with a good tune I repeat good tune you will be fine. any kind of power adder can/will shorten the life of the engine, but the better tuned it is for the power adder the less likely it will damage it, and if you keep the amount of boost/shot reasonable to what your engine can handle it should be fine. There is a lot of people that just strap on a 250 shot or whatever and wonder why they blew there **** up.

allow for enough fuel to get burned with the added boost cause even though 'lean is mean' it also means bye bye engine.

So what you saying is............

Do it!!!LOL

Has anyone else done this though?? The question still stands. Would like to know the pros and cons. I know what you mean by shorten the life of an engine, I wouldn't use it all the time, maybe just a few times a year when I have something to prove like,(Ricer, don't mess with a stang) the untuned ones that is.

Beware of NOS deposits in your engine though. Enough build up over time and it will blow. I don't know too much about NOS b/c I'm all about all throttle, no bottle. Anything's fast with a cheater kit. (And for people who say NOS isn't cheating, then why do you think they call it a cheater kit?) The trick is to do your car up to win w/o the ricer "quick-fixes" like NOS. This is just my opinion, so feel free to disagree however. If you do decide to do it, please heed the advice given above and don't try a ridiculous 250 shot or some crap like that.

so what he's saying.. on All Stock components he's spraying 125 shot of Nitrous??? Sorry if i'm being ignorant to the facts, but thats what it looks like. i would be scared to push over 100 shot from what i hear. I honestly dont know to much about nitrous, but when i get it, i will Learn. . I am extremely cautious anyways, and if i accidently do kill my engine , then i guess, i can just get the 5.0 i always wanted. LOL.

hey just a quick little side question, not too off topic, but why do people purge their nitrous? i always see em at the track sprayin it into the air and i have no clue what that accomplishes. it looks tght as hell but is that the only purpose? ive seen purge kits run for about $100 and i really wouldnt spend that on something that just sprays my nitrous in the air. help me out on this n00b question thanks

I have another question too. LOL. How much would you say it costs to fill a 10 lb. bottle of NO2. And whats the Real Difference between a wet system and dry nitrous system... Everyone says the wet system is safer, how??? I'm a newb to it too, so don't feel so bad.

So many questions, so little answers.

You purge to get all the air out of the nitrous lines so that as soon as the nitrous kicks in you get the full effect. The difference btw wet and dry is that a wet kit injects nitrous as well as fuel into the engine while a dry kit only injects nitrous and depends on the stock computer to compensate and add more fuel. This is why the wet kit is safer because the stock computer wont always add enough fuel which will cause the engine to run lean which is bad.

As for filling up a 10 lb bottle it usually runs around 40 bucks. I hope this helps you guys out

Im not to sure...my buddy has a formula and runs a 125 shot on it and he gets a little over a minute of total use out of the 10 lb bottle. So with a 75 shot Im not sure but probably a little longer then that???
