So I have begun to consider buying the nitrous express wet kit from AmericanMuscle for $600. Basically seems like you cant loose, overall its a cheap route to get alot of power, and as long as your responsible with it, it seems as though the actual engine risk is low. What do you all think? I'm very hesitant just becuase of the fact that i have seen many youtube vids of people blowing thier sprayed engines on dynos. I would not run the highest HP pill, but prob use the middle of the line (which i think is 100). Risk not worth it? Easy installation? Best kit to get around $600 at most? I never go into anything without first getting the stangnet expertise, so let me know!

NX is top of the line.

If you go that route, their plate kit is around the same price, if not just a little more if I remember correctly. Makes for an easier install and arguably better distrubution of the nitrous/fuel.

Keep in mind you will also want to get a window switch (preset "window" of RPM's for the nitrous to spray, say between 3k-6k RPM. It won't come on before or after that point), purge kit will be handy, correct heat range spark plugs (NGK TR-6 are good), a fuel pressure saftey switch is also a good investment.

On top of that, it's a good idea to strap it to the dyno to check your A/F ratio while on the spray.

NX claims you can run the factory tune and don't have to retard the spark at all, which is convenient. You CANNOT use nitrous with any kind of programmer that advances the spark!!!

100 shot is fine on a stock fuel system as long as your motor is in good health.

NX kit all the way! Remember though, It isn't the cheap route you think it is. 600 for the kit, 450-500 for the heater and blow down tube and stuff like that, 400 for a tune, 250 for gauges, 50 bucks a fill. Nitrous will cost the same on a GT after a year that the FRPP blower is. You will get about the same boost in hp. And come on, no one keeps it at 100 hp. That is why a lot of people blow engines. 30 seconds to swap pills and add 75 more hp. Too tempting. I was going to stay at a 75 shot on the mach. That lasted less than one race day before I was up to a 150 shot!

Edit: If you do decide to, get the Daytone progressive controller like I have. It is a window switch, WOT switch and prograssive control in one. The MSD window switch is like 259 bucks. My controller was only $329 and I love it. Much less wiring too. PM me if you need some details. I made a plug and play harness for it .

Yea NX Kits are great. My buddy is a NX distributor and he is a nitrous fanatic. He has literally run 1000s of bottles through his cars. That I can recall he has only had to bad experience one of which blew the hood right off his truck. LOL

I wouldn't go over 125shot, some people say you car spray 150shot but from what I've seen it’s not a good idea.

Like others have said you should prolly buy the bottle warmer and purge kit and defiantly by the RPM (window) switch.

I considered the nitrous route for awhile, but decided to go the KB route instead. Yeah, it's expensive but nitrous is not cheap either after all the extras you should have. And filling the
bottle every so often costs money too. I don't have to worry about that now. I enjoy my KB,
but nitrous is a good power adder too. Just wasn't for me.

If you don't think you want to sc it and just stay NA but want a little extra every once in a while than i say YAY for the n2o. I would love to have a KB but i plan on getting a termi so i'll leave the KB option open for that. I'll just keep the little ole' 2v NA with some juice.

I've purchased a Zex wet kit for my 98GT and It's really easy to install.
DON'T buy the Zex bottle heater... it's not the best heater... it's really slow to heat the bottle !

You won't regret the hit at 3000 RPM

Be sure to have a windows switch and pressure gauge on the bottle too...

But if you are wearing protection (have all supporting mods) you are good to hit that **** all you want. I have maybe 200 bottles through my car already.

i was running the NX plate kit and loved it man. its very good stuff. i sprayed a 50 for a bottle then moved to a 100 for couple then jumped to the 150 for the remaining 2x bottles lol. its in your tune whether it pops or not. i sprayed a 200 shot a couple times and it ran good but i definitely would not run that all the time. but start on the smallest jet they give you just to make sure all is working fine.

when spraying juice remember that the bigger the shot the smaller the window for error is. I had a dyno tune nitrous heater on it as well and that was a very good heater. and pretty cheap as well. I did not have the wot switches or any of that i just ran it on a push button. it was a hurst shift knob that i had.

also get some colder plugs and gap them to .035. have fun man you will love spray. I know i did

YAY for Nitrous. It's better to waste a nitrous burst - via purge - than a gallon of gas to let a ricer know that the game is already over. Are you getting some Ole Miss vanity plates for your car?
