I know this has come up before, but just wanted to see if anyone has had good or bad experience with Nitto 315 drags on stock cobra wheels.

Also what size do you recomend on the front? 315's also, or smaller?

WOOOOOOOW!!!!!!! 315's on stock rims is kinda dangerous. I was running 315's on a 10.5 inch wide rim and they were perfect. Shop around and find yourself a set of 03 cobra 10.5" rims for the 315's. I got mine from AFS. I wouldn't go any larger then 275/40/17's on the stock rims.

The 315 Nitto's fit just fine on the stock Cobra 9 inch rims, but ONLY THE NITTO'S ARE LIKE THIS! Nitto tires are notorious for being more narrow than any other tire when comparing the same sizes. Any other 315 will require a wider rim and the mods neccessary to run that rim.

I would not put 315 Nitto's on the front though. That would be too wide, stick with the stock tire size for the fronts.

Has anyone tried the NT01's for the drag strip? I know this tire is designed for road racing, but how do you think it would do on the strip?

How about the other way around, do you think 555 drag radials would do road racing? I'd like to do both, but don't really want to have two sets of wheels etc. I am not really concerned with winter or wet conditions as my 03 cobra is a weekend, fun car, not a daily driver.

I don't know anything about th NT01's, but I do know a lot of people run the 555's at the autocross and are happy with them.

My buddy has 315 BFG DR's on stock wheels...he hasn't had problems yet. If you go to 10.5's though (like I did) you will need to grind a little off the bold and get atleast a 1/4 spacer....

My tires are 315 BFG's and are a good inch wider than his.

I've seen both the Nitto and the BFG 315's mounted on the stock 9 inch rims. The Nitto's actually don't bulge much at all, but the BFG's sure did! I'd be a little leery of running the BFG's on the stock rims.

if you want a goot strip/street (more of a strip) tire, you can't beat the MT ET street's.

I will add that you'll get your money's worth on the Nittos though as the tires will last a decent amount longer.
Mileage from Drag Radials: Nittos>BFGs>MT ET Streets

Nitto's last longer but don't hook as good as the others.
