With stock tires you will need to launch around 2.5k to 3K any more and you will have to much wheel spin.

You cant launch at 2500-300rpms with a stock auto tranny. The highest I can go is 1500 before my tires star spinning.

so launching at 2500-3000rpms should help my times a bit?? okay i was always afraid to launch that high because im afraid of breaking something trying to get the rpm's up there.

I think I'll ask something that perhaps others have overlooked for the most part.

What kind of wheel spin did you have off the line ? Did you hook good or did you just seem to "crawl" out of the whole when you took off ? At 95*, bad track conditions, and an automatic with the stock torque converter aren't exactly compatible with good track times.

Set them at 16 psi. and dont do a huge burnout like you want to. I do a quick spin in the waterbox, then I burn them for like 5 seconds or so, just untill they start to smoke. At this point you can feel them starting to grip, and roll to the line. If you do too big of a burn, the will get slick like street tires do after a big burn.

Chances are, it's not the DR's. The car was probably just boggin due to all the heat. What would help you get out of the whole a lot quicker is a high stall converter(at least a 3k stall) and some good control arms for the rear of the car.
