Now there is another 315 street tire out there...not sure if these are out yet or not but I see nitto has a new street tire the NT05 and they have them in 315's for 17" wheels. Tire looks aggressive as well. the 315 for 17" is $212 from discount tire

Nitto Tire - High Performance Tires for Car and Truck Enthusiasts

ANDDDDDDDDD according to thier websight they now list the regular 555 in 315/35/17! and these run $209

Nice, but if I'm going to go to the trouble of putting a drag radial on my car, I'm gonna skip right over the Nitto and go with something that actually hooks. The Nitto is nice, because you get to keep a somewhat similar tread pattern all the way around when coupled with the regular NT555, but I'd still rather stick with my E/T Street Radials.

Oh I wouldnt run a free set of nitto 555r's at the strip, I ONLY run et street radials or et streets for sure....but for a street tire, its nice to see something other then the normal drag radial, as I am SICK and TIRED of my drag radials picking up every single rock and stone on the road, hopefully a street tire wouldnt be as bad

Guess I am used to seeing the 555r drag radials....let me move out from under this rock Guess I am just used to seeing people run either 555r's or the sumitumo's or the goodyear f1's as far as 315's go I will :Zip2:

Sumitomo's are pretty much just for the look. They're literally dirt cheap. We sell them for like 122.

Yeah the NT05 looks bad ass. It also looks shaved as the tread depth is really shallow. Wonder how long they last?

The 555R shows about 6.3/32nd and the NT05 shows a depth of 7/32nd....not sure on the wear, but they do look good....not sure if they are wet weather approved

Those do look awesome. I would get them for the back if they would match up to my HRT fronts. I don't want to have to buy 4 new tires.

Here is the specs from the site on them:

Performace rating: W
UTQG Treadwear: 200
Traction: AA
Temperture: A

You either need to learn how to drive or work on your suspension if you won't run Nitto DRs. I cut 1.4 60' all day long with my Nitto's while babying the stock tranny. Once I get the cash for a built tranny I should be running 1.1 60'.

Just think what kind of times you could cut with a set of ET Street Radials,or BFG Drags instead of those crappy Nitto's.

Thats impressive to say the least. I run the MT's because for the most cause I do not have to worry about how its going to launch. Hook or spin. I have seen to many people with the nitto's have to find the "right" luanch, and most of them can not replicate that 95% of the time. So one run they spin, and the next they hook I will say 1.4 is impressive to say the least.....but I would like to see a 1.1

I think I found my new tire for the rear. I was going to buy 555R's but these have a better wear rating and have about the same dry traction performance according to nitto. Has anyone bought these yet?

The new NT05? I think if I am not mistaken that they just came out, so as far as people getting them, they are still pretty new

J/c if you have a timeslip from the 1.4's, because after I got to thinking thats a pretty good dang 60' for nittos....but I guess a time slip wouldnt prove anything, but still, thats pretty stout...whats your suspension set up? Also what does the car run, heck I dont remember you say, Im sorry if you did, but with that 60' that sucker should be inthe 9's 9 second street car

Oxford, I am not a pro racer and have never cut better then a 1.9 with my Firebird Formula with drag radials so yours would rape that thing!
I cant think of one person I know that can cut a 1.1 with their street car. I know a dude with over 1000 rwhp in his Cobra and cant do that!
Is your car lightened?

I cut 1.7's inmy old car on MT Dr's leaving at 4k bogging trying not to break the rear your bird musta been a turd

And I found this:
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 24th NOTES & REPORT

PRO STOCK

Robert Patrick runs the run of the day in his Purvis Ford Mustang posting a 6.380 @ over 217 mph, just under his own National Record of 6.36 which he set here during last season's World Finals. Last pass at 6pm, 6.394 @ 217.32 mph!

Jeff Dobbins - Best of .989 to the 60 ft. all day. Smooth passes backing out early.

Frank Gugliotta - Best of 1.00 to the 60 ft.

Elijah Morton - Best of 1.00 to the 60ft., breaking the differential on his last pass.

Art Hodges - One pass with tire shake.

Dwayne Rice - No good passes all day.

Richard Penland - One pass with a .994 60 ft. Last pass 1.00 60 ft. - 4.18 to the 1/8th, was on a good pass and let out of it.

PRO MOD

Scotty Cannon Jr. ran a very stout 3.99 to the 1/8th mile with a 1.00 60 ft. on that pass. 2nd pass he made he clocked a 9.90 60 ft.

Those are Pro Stock and Pro Mod cars cutting 1.0 60's.......so 1.1 is in that range....1.4 maybe, but def. no 1.1 60'????
