I had to start a thread about this to see if anyone can help. I have an '87 mustang. I took out the ac and ps. Using a manual rack. The stock water pump is a reverse rotation water pump. I tried getting a standard pump for weeks, could not find one. So I just got an electric water pump. After I get the electric fan, is there anything I should know while doing this. The only other problem is the underdrive pulleys. Since I don't have ac or ps and an electric pump, the belt is only running on the alt, crank, and Smog. Has anyone ran the belt like this. Will it have enough tension? If I did not have the smog, I think it would be a problem. I have no smog pump, but I have a pulley there. Does anyone see any problems that I am going to run into? This does not seem like something that a lot of people have done, so I am hoping that someone with a drag car can help me out. I just need to know how to run the belt and if the tensioner will be alright if I run it alt, crank, and smog?
