So my boss says...
back when he worked at a dealer service center(not too long ago) he got into an arguement with a customer about this. The customer was saying no automaker puts clearcoat on white vehicles. The customer said he was a paint tech/engineer at the local auto plant. He convinced everyone at the center including having calls made to 'official' sources about this.
I could not agree with my boss. He did make me unsure about whole mess though. I tried looking up anything about not having clear on whites but found nothing. All I could find was some blurp about single stage paint vs 2 stage, and that 95% of cars painted today are with a 2-stage type.
So what was my boss smoking? Was this a thing of the past? Makes no sense to me. I would love a source to throw at him to clarify this to him.
