Ok i have an 1987 mustang gt and as of 2 days ago my heat stopped working along with my rear defroster and accesory lights for my ignition. Has this happened to anyone? what would cause all 3 to suddenlly stop working? Please help!

FIXED!!!!!

Ok so heres the scoop, after checking all the fuses and nothing i dropped the fusebox, checked the purple and orange wire thats for accesory heat and rear defroster, noticed one of the power wires was missing? looked for it and No luck, out of curosity i took a power wire from the radio and powered it to the orange n purple wire behind the fuse box, sure enough had heat and accesory lights, so now that i knew my problem i ran a wire from any positive connection in the fuse box to the purple and green connection and Bang! ALL DONE PROBLEMS ARE FIXED!! Thanks for all the input that anyone who took the time to help! =)

While Im glad you got it fixed, I can honestly say that Ive never heard of a wire dissapearing. If it worked 2 days earlier, then it had to have had power from some wire somewhere. You might wanna look into that before something else dissapears

Correct me if I'm not following you. On the back of the fuse box at fuse #5 you have the P/O wire on one side of the fuse and nothing on the other side of the fuse until you connected a hot wire?

If that's the case it's a GY/Y wire from the ignition switch that should be connected to the other side of the fuse and you REALLY don't want that wire (or any other wire) hot and loose behind the fuse box.

There are 2 orange/purple wires the connect to the back where the fuse goes, there was no power getting to those wires to power my accesories, so i took a short length of wire put it next to the orange and purple and with the other end i found a hot lead behind the fuse box, i just rewired everything this morning, now my heat, all accesory lights and rear defroster work, the way i had it last night overloaded a fuse so i routed it to a 20 fuse where the accesories only work with ignition on. Last night on my way to work the heat worked for about 15 minutes and it turned off, the way i have it all routed now seems to be working alot better now then it did last night, Just hope im right. As for the wire that was missing to power that orange and purple? i have no clue what use to power it but i looked again today and was unable to locate any loose wire so idk what the deal with that is.:D
