No Idea - Electrical Gremlins out of the Blue

So, I've had my '04 base mustang for a while now. I've slowly been upgrading and repainting it. My wife and I had to move to a different city for a new job. So I was 3 weeks into the job and one night I go to turn my windshield defrost on and the car shook badly and then everything dimmed. I turned it off and back on and everything seemed ok. Then I noticed the airbag light was on. I scratched my head and turned back on the defrost and nothing happened. I silently cursed at myself and headed home. Turned my blinker on to turn....and nothing. So there's my story.

So I research a lot. And most everyone in relatively related posts is saying check fuses and change the ignition switch. Ok...all fuses good. Ignition switch changed and nothing different however now my radio can be turned on while the key isn't in the car....

My head hurts right now, but I would appreciate two bits of info. First, for future reference, is this where I post this stuff? Second, any help would be appreciated.

I am not an expert on your model year however, your issue reminds me of some others that included issues with the CCRM.

Review the following thread and note the pinout for the CCRM as an attachment in post #2:

clicky clicky

Also: Note that pinout is for that CCRM and not car specific meaning: It doesn't show what they did with each of those pins in 2004. For that, you would need a diagram for the 04 GT.

If I find one, I'll post it here. Somebody else may come along that's got one on-hand already.
