no MIL Elims on an o/r pipe... safe?

I hear that it isn't a problem, but with a Offroad H/X pipe installed on the vehicle without MIL Eliminators, the "Check Engine" or Service Engine Soon" will always be on, and the driver won't have the opportunity of being alerted if something more serious is wrong with the vehicle. So just put it on for peace of mind.

its the more expensive route...but will correct its air/fuel

i ran mine for about 8 mo. w/ ses light on & off, but mostly on (via horrible mil elims from dallas mustang); won't really hurt anything, but i have a theory that car doesn't run quite as well when the ses light is on. i can't explain it nor do i have no evidence to prove this theory, but now that mine is off again (for good) i am sure that my theory is at least somewhat true.

You won't hurt the car, but you will not know if the car throws any other codes. You can disable the OBDII test for cat efficiency and not have to worry about MIL eliminators either...

How do you do this? I have been running mine with the SES light on for about a year now, but it would be nice to have it turned off without having to worry about dealing with the MIL eliminators.

I have a feeling my car is running to rich.....how do i disable the OBDII code so i can lean the A/F out???

If you are running too rich you have other problems.

I have a Bassani Catted X-pipe and every 7,000 miles it lights the MIL for a day or two and then it goes away for another 7,000 miles. You'll get used to it. If your emissions test goes to the OBD-II connector you may have issues if you fail the catalyst efficiency readiness test. PA strts doing this in April 2004.

First off, the rear O2 sensors have nothing to do with the air-fuel ratio.

Second, there are two scalars in the PCM that come into play with the rear O2 sensors that have to be changed: OBDII_MIL_Switch and OBDII_tst-switch. The stock values for the GT are 247 & 243 respectively and to disable the tests that result in stored codes and prevent the MIL simply reduce them both by 1. This can be done with a chip or reflash, I do it with my tweecer...
